Few G20's spotted...

I'm surprised at how few new 3's Ive seen on the roads. Two or three at most. I know the new model's not been out for long but I would have expected to see more. Are they not shifting? Discounts still poor?
Anyone spotting them?

Dunno, I've not been keeping count but I've seen a fair few on the road. I've seen zero M340i's and only one tourer but a fair few saloon's.....

know of 6 locally (I'm not a stalker, I'm a dog owner/walker )

Suspect that the fleet lead time has something to do with it - add that the WLTP testing rules meant that there we're packs and not options would have limited the company car volume.

I know a lot of orders with my employer were ending up with Merc as Jag had a stop for model change and Merc had the C-class refresh on market sooner (within the right cost bands).

One of the local cars to me is a guy who had a kitted up F30 330D who's just taken delivery of a fully kitted up G20 - he's an obsessive valeter so it always look nice

I've seen loads. I reckon a good 30+ now. Saw 3 in one trip alone a couple of months back and just driven past a 330e parked up at the side of the road.

Garage List
Hardly seen any

Blame artificially high prices to allow substantial discounting

Blame political and Brexit uncertainty

Blame new road tax structure as not seen many high end new cars.

I've seen quite a few but no M340's and I've seen a 330i with the performance kit on it.

It won't be long before all the premium manufacturers will be belly aching because of poor sales due to the above reasons, namely new tax structure. They only have themselves to blame for just rolling over and expecting the customer to stomach the increased premium tax rip off, and not tackling the government to get it reduced or aboloished. I know quite a few companies that have simply refused to allow employees to have a company car over the 40k threshold.... Now these figures are beginning to bite and show up on the manufacturers sales figures. Serves them right... Expect to see more and more discounts into the new year as all manufacturers are having a tough time getting rid of stock.

I've got to say, as I am currently considering a new car, the new tax system really is a hard one to swallow. To increase my yearly car tax by £300 is a bloody big jump. Some of you will say it's only £25 a month but I've always paid car tax for the full year and £300 is definitely more noticeable. It's just another small reason that I may actually stick with my 330d.

Working in London, see lots of 330e. Living on a new estate just outside London see lots of fleet cars, including a fair few new 3 series. All saloons so far.

Company car drivers are going electric in a big way so we have a fair few Tesla, iPace, etc kicking around the area.

For private buyers I think the 3 series has perhaps become a little bit popular....

If we are talking rare sights, I saw a new (19 plate) facelift Mondeo the other day. I didnt event know the Mondeo had been facelifted....

Based on the G20 forum you'd think this was the only model for sale.
They do seem quite rare still (all types).

Think they've only been about for the last couple of months or so. My company recently switched from Audi to BMW and the guys getting the 3 series level of cars had to wait the longest, my boss only got his 330e last week because there was a delay.

It's that front end I think that's stopping people from buying it! Maybe the Lexus style rear end too :

Absolutely. It’s put me off upgrading and I’ve kept and paid off my 335xd. £130 per yr road tax. Can’t stomach the fact that it’s anything but a “Rich” tax ,after all the car doesn’t produce less pollution, congestion etc after 5 years.

Also annoys me that the manufacturers don’t just knock the “ discount “ off the list price to start with in order to bypass this tax

Can’t imagine it’s helping any British car makers , don’t think JLR have anything sub 40K.( Appreciate they’re Indian owned but look at their UK infrastructure)
