Hi

I cannot update the software on my car. .Bin file downloaded put onto formatted Fat32 flash drive. BMW tech say use 64gb, any ideas? I'm using a Fat 32 go drive. Any help appreciated.

What size is your USB drive?

I initially used a 32gb stick and it didn't work. I then got myself a Sandisk Ultraflare 64gb stick and fat32 formatted it. Worked instantly.

I have noticed over the years with my various BMWs, that a good quality stick is important for the update to work successfully.

When I did my USB map update my 32gb stick was too small so I got a 64 gb memory stick, however it wouldn't format to FAT32 saying it was too big.

I formatted it in NTFS and downloaded the map to that stick. I put it in the car and it recognised it and downloaded it as normal....so if you can't do FAT32 try NTFS format.

I cant update the software on my 17 plate - BMW have disabled software update via USB according to my dealer and the dealer 'forgot' to do the update for me when it was last in.

Only the maps can be updated on my 4GC.

Okay, brand new Sandisk 64gb drive - Formatted to FAT32 - No luck
