First Service at 6,400 Miles ?

I now have 3,500 miles on my car and iDrive is telling me that it's due for service in 2,900 miles. Unfortunately, the car started out life in some heavy traffic but I'm still a bit surprised by this. Any thoughts ?

Probably the heavy traffic, spirited driving, and short drives.

It's covered so your lucky and get w free oil change at 6k miles

My car ended up having its first service at around 6600 miles...but it also had it it's year mark....fwiw...

Check the build-month on the manufacturer's label attached to the the B pillar (driver's side). The first service date will be determined by either 12 months from the build date or sooner in the event of higher mileage.

My car got its fist oil change at just under 7000 miles. A lot of frequent, but short trips. The second one was just recently done at about the same mileage.

The build date is 2/2016

My first was a year from delivery date, not build date. I didn't actually go in for another two months, as I still had less than 6,000 miles on it.

Same here. Have a build date of March 2016 and took delivery June 2016. Oil change shows June 2017.

Not an issue since I changed my oil yesterday anyways
