Fog Lights

Is it just me, or is it really dumb that one fog light comes on when you are turning or have you blinker on? I know it's supposed to light the direction you are turning, but to me it looks like you just have a light out. Aren't the headlights supposed to turn also? If so isn't the fog light coming on pointless?

I guess it annoys me because so many people think one of my lights are burnt out. Any way to turn this off?

You can code it off

Or just turn the fogs on when the lights are on

I suggest not being concerned with what others may think. If their lives are so devoid of interest this is a topic for conscious thought, pity them.

Otherwise, coding is the only way out.

I don't care what others think, it just bothers me...think it looks dumb. I don't like having the fogs on all the time because they look so yellow compared to the xenons. Probably will just live with it, just can't believe they would come up with something so dumb.

That was a lightening fast, 180 degree about-face. Impressive.

An option for addressing the color temperature is installing LEDs. Another is to install actual yellow fog light bulbs. White "fogs" do not make much sense.

I can appreciate not liking it, but it works well. Thus, not dumb.

It's a safety feature. The fog lights only do this if your full lights are on (IE, not during daytime). At night if you're driving some rural/back country roads, having an extra light illuminating the corner can be very helpful, and for me extra safety is always a plus. If you hate the "one light" look, just do what I do, and turn on fogs whenever main lights are on. I had my OEM ones switched out to some HIDs that match the main lights.

I completely understand its a safety feature...but why not just have both come on? Wouldn't that be even safer and not look as ridiculous having only one light on?

I will live with it until I get it coded. I don't care how it appears to others, but it bothers me. I only noticed it when the valet pulled my car up the other night. But since then others have commented about it proving it wasn't just me being crazy

Fog lights are not supposed to be white like the HID's, they should be 3000k yellow.

Because you don't want to unnecessarily dazzle oncoming traffic with a stray fog light in their face? There's a reason why turning on your fog lights when it's clear is illegal.

Source? I see everyone around my area (NY) running with fogs on at night. Is it one of those laws no one really enforces, like tints around here? How does the police judge if it is "clear" or not?
