that double exhaust made me think of my 320i, but unfortunately there is not such an easy solution available for petrol. If I want to do it it will be cutting the current pipe and welding a a double one to the existing exhaust. Also the diffuser needs to be cut and to cover up it needs something like the piece mentioned in an earlier post (which also needs painting too). So it is a lot more effort...

the diffuser might be a problem, but i tink as long as the pipe diameter for the exhaust tip connection is same then thats the major hurdle passed

You'll need these two items if you have an M Sport. The cost is from a UK dealer:

328i Diffuser - 51128054198 - £68 inc VAT
Twin Exhaust - 18302296889 - £239 inc VAT

Talked to my dealer. The Y tip does not fit the 320i. There simply is not enough space.

Not enough space WHERE exactly? As posted above you need the second piece as well, or they can cut up the diffuser to fit it. I think this is what they´re referring to ,cause I can´t think of anything else that wouldn´t fit with stock, meaning they don´t know what they´re talking about.

We collected our F31 316d Touring last week. I was expecting a really basic underpowered model (its a company model within a strict price band) but a) its built and fitted to mid-range levels (eg tailgate powerlift as std) and b) pulls well thanks to the new twin scroll turbo diesel. Only comment would be that the gap between 5th and 6th is a little wide ie 6th too long for normal A roads.

The feature most noticeable is the ride quality - superb ie firm but comfortable.

What made the event so enjoyable was the attention to detail in the preparation and customer service; apparently its the largest dealer showroom in the world .
