I saw the paperwork but didn't get a copy of it. I can try to find out. I'm supposing T002 is the Rosslyn plant.

@ Ozorion do you mean the labour component was $270? I'm expecting a tint to cost around $700 total parts & labour. I'll start asking around soon when I free up a bit at work.

I've never purchased paint protection, (partly as I've never owned a car much past the 3 year warranty) but this time around I will go for it.

$700 for tint? I got Opticoat + full detail + 20% carbon film tint for $895 from Reflect Effect in Parramatta.

Nope, $270 was parts and labour - in fact I got slugged a little on parts because I asked the tinting guy not to remove the baby seat from the back of the car and on his first attempt, he screwed up the back window element and had to remove it and start again. My own fault though - though I'll blame my wife - she was the one that told me not to let anyone take the seat out.

If anyone in Sydney is looking at tinting, I would happily recommend the guy that I used.

I have got a chassis number and car is being built this week! I asked the pre delivery coordinator for the link to track the order, but was given the link to track shipping.

I did a google search but it looks as though we aus customers can only track the shipping but not the build? Is this correct?

The coordinator is new and not that responsive as a result... So thought to ask you guys.

I think BMW North America customers can track their build from what I have read.

Yes and yes. NA guys can track their car's build, but even then, updated details may be delayed.

The shipping info may be delayed in some cases, so don't panic if it doesn't update for you immediately.

Drk280 I think I'm going with Reflect Effect as well after ringing a few people & researching options on the internet. This is largely because they will do opticoat & keep the car overnight for the opticoat to cure. Otherwise I would have gone with J1n's suggestion of tintacar.

What's your impression of them in relation to how they treat the car? Was the odometer pretty much the same when you picked up the car? Reckon they're trustworthy with the car overnight?

I'm just wondering if I should wait to break in my car (i.e. wait 2000kms) before allowing someone else to touch it. Worst case scenario, they may rev the engine even though it hasn't been broken in yet.

Finally!! My vehicle is listed on w&w. happened sometime between 11am and now.

Loaded 17th jan ship leaves 18th jan. I might have just snuck on.

Arrives 3 weeks later at port Kembla.... So is it 2 weeks for customs, holding yard for ADR checks/mods, and dealer delivery? What were your experiences?

I reckon I pick up around 22nd feb?

Mine arrived in Auckland four hours ago. It travelled the SA/Fremantle/Melbourne/Pt Kembla/Brisbane route. Mine should be delivered to dealer in the next day or so. It's already had customs and MAF clearance.

Sitting on the port as we speak - I know I drove past Ports of Auckland and could see her in the distance!

Will take a day or so at the dealer for M Peformance aero and exhaust installation.

Exciting times.

I think we have more regulation in australia and slower to adopt overseas standards.

For instance, it took us ages to adopt isofix.

I know for example australian VW golfs need minor mods to comply with aussie harnessing standards. Maybe now they dont... No idea.

When i pick up the car, i will be able to tell from any special inserts to the owners manual what the country specific mods were.

Yeah, I think you're right. NZ cars are basically EU spec so no modification required. I suspect AU requirements are somewhat designed to help protect local assembly in Australia....car assembly died in NZ a while ago now.

I find it odd my ship's itinery terminates in brisbane without continuing onto NZ.

Or maybe as an aussie customer i dont see destinations after australia. For instance the UK customers mighht not see the ship sailing onto SA then Oz.

Yeah... My ship originated from bremmerheven and went via UK!

Btw looks like your m performance bits were a recent decision? A few of us have seen the video of the N20 exhaust and it sounds really good!

Many of the voyages start in Europe picking up and dropping off cars along the way. We had a MINI Countryman travel from Bremerhaven, via the USA, then to NZ onto Australia....the car had quite a trip!

For SA built cars not so many of the WW ships continue onto NZ in that direction, so mine was transhipped onto a NOCC vessel in Brisbane.

I always planned to add the M Performance Aero kit and the exhaust. I'm not doing the spoiler yet, just the front lip, side sills, and rear diffuser. Painting body colour so the car should end up looking like this...

Question: so how come you didnt go for the M Sport and decided to fit the M performance aero bits afterwards? You may have missed my edit, but i think your M performance mods are a recent decision?

I have gone M Sport, you require these for M Performance aero kit, see pic above.

Oh, i dsidnt know there were further items that stick on top of the M Sport trims! Thanks for the pic as i can now see what the additions are compared to the M Sport.

Btw Jono, no joke but i am adding the following items to my own delivery checklist when i pick up the car... Depending how paranoid you are you might consider the same :-

- check for rusty seats (i will bring a torch)
- check no uneven suspension gaps in the wheel arches
- check steering rack clunk (i think another thread said turning full lock to lock will replicate... Not sure if it does on a tiled showroom floor)
- wiggle butt in drivers seat to ensure tight fitting leather

Might get my delivery person to drive round the block for suspension creak.

Also will check to make sure all the options are present and accounted for.

Thats my summary of the key issues known to date.

The steering wobble will require a freeway run after handing over your hard earned

Yeah, I really like the M Performance Aero parts, very subtle but further enhance the M Sport in my opinion.

I like how the front lip appears to add height to the front and reduces that "squashed nose" look that the F30 is often criticised for. The side sills are also subtle and heighten the side of the car which makes it look slightly more athletic too.
