I have a tanzanite GC being built right now and was initially going to do a munich pick up but decided it is difficult with a toddler, so I'm doing the performance center instead.
My plan in Europe was to drive to Zurich via the Meersburg-Konstanz ferry then drive thru Liechtenstein into Austria. Continue thru Innsbruck and Salsburg to get to Vienna. Then up to Prague and back to Munich. That was the 'keep the wife entertained' plan but if I was going by myself it would be straight up to the Nurburgring.

That's right. Beside the 5% discount on MSRP, people are able to get pricing very close to ED invoice, which is another 7~8% to ED MSRP.

You should stay in Munich for 3 more days and go to Oktoberfest on the 22nd! I did that 10 years ago and it was a lot of fun.

440i GC
My wife and I are flying to Munich on September 3 and picking up our Alpine White 440i GC on September 5. (19" 704 wheels, red leather, essentials pkg., M-Sport pkg., premium pkg., track handling pkg., blind spot monitor)
Then we're off for a three-week road trip through Austria, Italy, and Germany (Chiemsee, Kitzbuehel, Zell am See, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Riva del Garda, Verona, Maranello, Bolzano, Mayrhofen, Garmisch Partenkirchen, Fuessen, Stuttgart, Trier, and Frankfurt for the auto show) before dropping our car off at Munich for our return flight to Florida. Given the outrageous wait time (10+ weeks) for U.S. Performance Center re-delivery, as opposed to our dealer (6 weeks), we're having the car shipped to our Tampa dealer for U.S. delivery. 5 weeks to departure and counting......... |

For pricing, shoot for 5% off base price for ED, then 7% off ED base and options.
For the trip, man you could fit luggage no problem. My family - also 4 of us, traveled in a Citroen C3 for 15 days last summer with our luggage - tight, but it worked fine. My loop was SE through Germany to Salzburg, then west across Austrian Alps, then through Switzerland stopping in Grindelwald. Into France, Paris, across to Normandy, then up into Belgium. Stayed in Bruges and did several beer day trips from there. I would have skipped Brussels except for Cantillon, then SE to Bastogne. I missed Ypres, but would stop there next time. Then east back into Germany stopping in Trier and going through southern Germany back to Munich. Then dropped the car and flew to Rome - love Rome. Yes, absolutley, family will grow tired of car stuff before you even finish the BMW museum or the in depth BMW tour. Edit: Just realized the date and see you are likely underway already. Enjoy!!! I expect pics when you return
