Simple answer is, no. There is no delay between pressing the accelerator and acceleration on my car. In Sport mode it is pretty much instantaneous.

I'd suggest you have your car checked.

Don't forget, you're not comparing apples to apples... the 3GT weighs a lot more than an F30 of the same engine...

But no, I have no problems with the acceleration... if you do, either check that you're not in Eco Mode, or get your car checked out!

More to the point, it's the same engine, so response is going to be the same. The only difference in acceleration will be related to the weight of the car, and since the GT weighs more the 0-60 time will be a whopping 0.3 seconds slower. If there really is the kind of lag that he says I as well would chalk it up to his 'improvements'.

There has been some interesting reading on the F30 UK site about a 'lazy gearbox'

See here -
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1222634

The experts there claim that the ZF8 gearbox can 'go to sleep' after a bit of steady cruising. Maybe this is the answer ?

Have to agree with that. I felt similar on a 430d I was driving a few months back, although it didn't damage the experience too much. I guess it's a pain to flick to Sport mode every time you want to whack the pedal. My (uneducated in the subject) guess would be that these autos are tuned for efficiency over power delivery and so 'fall asleep' to optimise fuel consumption, somehow or other.
