435d - Thermal camera images

Hey there,

I've recently bought a thermal camera, took some pictures of my car and thought that others might like to see how it looks like in LWIR.

These pictures were taken in my garage, after coming home from a 60km (37mi) trip in 33C (91.4F) temperatures.

Tailpipes look kinda hot

Naturally, the tires and the rotors got a bit heated up.

Engine bay looks hot as well. Seems that the hood does a good job in insulating, while the front side panels get quite hot.

Here are some markers:

And here's the front of the car.

I expected that the front radiator to be quite warm, but it seems that the one on the bottom left (right side of the car) is the warmest.

Inside the car, driver footwell:

Passenger footwell:

Hood pooped:

Front view again:

Front + a bit of sides. You can clearly see that the side panel is quite hot!

Bottom right radiator:

Why would you want to insulate and keep the heat in?

+1. The hood insulation is to reduce sound transmission, not to hold heat in.

cool!

Now let's see how many air leaks your residence has. Nothing feeds BMW OCD like seeing air leaks in a residence.
