My CA won't respond to emails or phone calls requesting an update to status. I have a couple of PIA and am supposed to take PCD. At this rate I'm guessing I won't see my car until 2nd or 3rd week of June for a total of 14 or 15 weeks order to delivery.

I ordered same thing on 3/8, also was on Prime Ace. I suspect that your car was offloaded in Charleston, not Brunswick, and is awaiting transport to VPC. That's what my order status was as of this afternoon, according to my CA. Supposedly I'll get an update tomorrow and maybe get to start talking about either picking PCD dates or canceling my order (long story)

My 435 GC took 6 months from order to delivery. 14 weeks is nothing.

That's bonkers man. I would get in touch with a manager at the dealership if the SA/CA isn't responsive. While your total production time isn't unheard of for a SA build, the customer service aspect seems really wrong.

I think it depends a little on what you were told when you placed the order. I was told 8-10 weeks max, and next week will be 12 weeks.

If I was told 6 months at the outset and I still ordered, that would be different. But I was lead to believe more like 2-3 months, not 3-4.

Others might have different expectations.

Was told 2 months until they "found" out it was an SA build. Then it was 3 months but in reality 4 months

I am Passport also. Nice people.

If I requested PCD, should I be looking for a Charleston bound ship? If that is the case it may have to to Germany first.

I got my '14 from passport..this one I am getting from Fairfax.

I believe for PCD cars they can either be dropped at Brunswick or Charleston. I Am doing PCD as well.

Has your car gotten to the port yet? Mine says it's currently in transit to the port of exit.

Still waiting on a boat from SA. I know it will be worth it, but the wait is killing me.

I've been told 8-10 weeks every time but I know now - a Spartanburg build is usually 3-4 weeks from order to delivery, a European build is 6-10 weeks order to delivery, and a South Africa build is 12 weeks minimum and often MUCH longer. The 335i I ordered in 2012 was 20 weeks, ordered early March and delivered August. It waited I think 6 weeks in Durban for a boat, and then went on a Africa and Europe milk stop run prior to getting to the US.

My CA just said that for vehicles released by VPC today, they're currently scheduling PDC events around June 15 as the first available date.

So approx 2.5-3 weeks out, depending on people's schedule, etc.

Update...I finally got ahold of the manager at the dealer and received an update... My vehicle is being "processed" at the PCD and they expect to receive dates for delivery later this week or early next. The manager told me the same thing others have confirmed here...most recent PCD's he had scheduled for delivery were around June 15th/16th...so looks like it will be 15 weeks total. Now I know what to expect with an SA build in the future...

DocB - how did yours end up taking 6 mos.?

Making me nervous here. I have an SA build and was told it would complete production by June 3 and be stateside by late June/early July. I'm not even sure how that's realistic going by what I've read.

I ordered the leather dashboard which was available when I placed my order however was removed as an option during my build. I received one of the last 4 series to include the leather dash. It ended up being worth the wait

My CA was referring to some X5 orders that he was scheduling for their PDC yesterday - he said they were released and now he was able to schedule them.

Should be 10 weeks

Let's see if this ends up being the timeline:

Imperial Blue 340i Luxury Line South Africa build
May 17 Ordered, got Production Number
May 19 Build Begun
May 20 VIN received
June 1 Build Completion Date ?
June 16 Estimate Ship Load date, Elegant Auto Carrier Express (ACE) ?
July 16 Elegant ACE Arrives Galveston ?
July 21 Estimated Car arrives at dealer ?

That's 10 weeks - not too bad if it ends up being right.

Hey all,

Here is my timeline. Considering it was a SA build, I think think things went pretty smoothly.

03/08/16 - Placed Order with dealer
03/11/16 - Producition Number received
04/07/16 - Production Complete
04/12/16 - At Port Awaiting Shipment
04/17/16 - Departed on vessel Martorell
05/08/16 - Arrived New York
05/09/16 - Arrived Baltimore
05/11/16 - Released to carrier for truck shipment to dealer
05/15/16 - Arrived at Dealer.
05/16/16 - Pickup!

I'm now at about 250 miles. The break-in period is killer - I can't wait to open her up all the way...

Did you ever find out the deal with your car? You're the only other Prime Ace car I know of on here...Got my PCD date early last week - June 14th. Could have had it as eary as the 8th, so one of the 14 weeks is on me.

But still - 13 weeks is way longer than I was led to believe

Yes - CA called me back on Friday, May 27, and told me that processing was complete and they scheduled me for PCD on June 8. So it will be two days short of 13 weeks.
