I'm wondering whether it had anything to do with my adding both M packages to the M Sport Order... that's when it happened. Seems there were some changes coming that made them put a stop for the N55 based on some previous limp mode issues they were looking at. Not sure if it was software or something else related to the production.

I see your order was for a '28xi..

Yea, I was wondering the same thing.. maybe the 428s are getting the earlier production slots. My order is for a 435.

That makes sense but we had people in this forum taking deliveries of MY14 335i. Since they are using the same engine, that shouldn't cause a delay. However, maybe they have more N20 engines ready in the inventory and N55 engines just require some inventory build up so they push back the N55 orders. Just speculating obviously

My original order was a 435, with the N55 and had a build date of August. But I added this to the original order back in early July:

ZHE M Performance Package II
ZE1 M Performance Exhaust
ZE2 M Power Kit
ZW5 M Performance Package
2NH M Sport brake
2VF Adaptive M Suspension
2VL Variable Sport Steering
840 High speed maximum with perf. tires

So something in that added list caused it to get pushed out to September.

Same Production Number, tho.

I have a production number, but no scheduled production date. Some of you seem to have information on when your build will occur. wish I had a build week to work with. And I have no M performance gear on mine.

I don't have access to that (production week) information. Only my CA can see it in their internal database.

Have you asked your CA about the production week? Because if you have a production number then you should have a production week also...

I spoke with BMW NA about why it was taking so long. Don't they have access to the same build week information that the CA would? And they said nothing about that, only try to be patient or words to that effect.

Update on my situation, my CA stated today that my car is scheduled for production next week (week 34) and should arrive "approx. one month" after production is completed. I placed the order with my dealer July 14th and the car is a 28i M Sport. The shipping time seems extremely generous, being that the car is headed to San Diego, CA.

Also, has anyone been able to confirm the official US market release date for the 4 series? I've spoken with several SoCal dealers that claim anytime from late August to late September. Seems like no one actually knows...

Heard the same thing. My CA even said that they wouldn't be able to sell the car to me if it were to arrive prior to 10/5. The car just would have to wait at the dealer until 10/5.

Finally an update! I just got my production number for my 435i order. The phone number says the production date has not been specified yet, but my CA says it is 1st or 2nd week in September (Week 36/37). Pretty excited

M Sport Package
Highlight trim finishers Estoril Blue matte
Aluminum Hexagon interior trim

Which dealership are you using to get a sale price of $600 over invoice? That's pretty remarkable for the 4-Series right now.

Is your Sales Price before the incentives?

i think when you do a PCD you can get more off the car then normal. If i were to take a PCD i could have gotten the same above invoice as mntbiker but i also dont live in raleigh...lucky bastard!! Im up here in NYC so i paid a little more over invoice for mine but did not have to setup a trip to NC...could not get the time off work anyway.

BTW mntbiker i think we are going into production at the same time! Interesting package you got there...a real stripper car msport but with navi. Why did you opt not to get the blue msport brakes for 650...would have been great on that car

Mine was $52,375 msrp for my msport 428i cause i got some goodies and leather. Sale price of $50250

your lease is also better then mine because you got it for less money but your residual is based on the msrp

oh and i added the msport brakes on mine at the last minute before the order went through lol
