Question One piece of advice

Recognized that we have very wise and intelligent individuals on this forum...

From our more experienced members: if you could give only one piece of advice to the young guns out there, regarding anything (relationships, finances, friends, etc.), what would it be?

Thank ya thank ya.

Relationships: don't marry someone unless they are perfect to you in every way, and they think you're perfect in every way also. If you're referring to dating, then date a lot and figure out what's a good match to you and what's not. Don't keep dating someone just because they're good in bed. You can find that all day long. Keep dating someone because they will eventually make a great wife, and the perfect mother to your children.

Finances: don't ever buy something (unless it's a house) that you cannot pay cash for.

Friends: it's better to have a small group of good friends (even just a handful) vs. having a really big group of acquaintances.

Happiness, for the most part, is a choice. So much of life is all about mindset and attitude.

I kinda like this, too. It's the "Top 5 regrets of the dying", combined with some advice from some life-coach guy.

I tend to agree with that, but don't think it is always viable for everyone to pay for a car in cash.

This absolutely. We've often read on here about people trying to justify paying a high percentage of their income to drive the car of their dreams.

I agree and live by this but I know it's not a popular opinion on this forum.

also, don't get too excited for delicious soup because you might burn the inside of your mouth and it will be a slight annoyance for some time.

Thank ya thank ya.
Relationship
1. If you broke up, make sure it stays that way. So many good women out there. Stop trying to focus on 1 medium salmon. There are larger salmons out there.
2. If a women are TOO into luxury/brand sh1t, time to dump her to the nearest bus station asap. Those are ones who will drain your savings acct. I am lucky that my idiot friends married few. Learned it easy way.
3. DO NOT let the gf move in with you. Unless, you need a place to move in, you can temporary move in with her. However, make sure you have a storage space rented. JIC.

Finance
1. Unless your $'s interest/gain can accommodate your living cost, you are poor. If someone has $4mil, and gains 4%, but spends 150k, you are okay.
However, idiot who has $15min CASH (not fukn net) and gains only 4% on return @ 600k, but he/she spends $1mil/yr, they are NOT WELL OFF.
2. Save and invest.
I would rather lose $ on investment than buy a 2ct vvs1 ring to a fiance and breakup. If you lose money, it is just money. Make/save more.
3. If you meet a stupid women who are into luxury sh1t, I don't care you make $17mil/yr in W-2 + $120mil in ESOP/ESPP, you will always feel you are broke.

Friend
1. I stop meeting friends who always say
"Oh my other friend drives a Ferrari and flies Robinson R44."
"Oh my friend is a hedge fund manger, and he have 25 Rolex watches"

Those idiot fks will use most of their salaries to match the lavishing life style of their upper-middle class friends they have. They will financially ruin you.

2. Please feel free to dump the friends who thinks they are better than you.
3. I also do not hang out with friends who has massive inheritance. One of my closest friend from undergrad has massive inheritance. He is actually not bad of a guy. However, It is just me. I just can't do friends w/ massive inheritance.

My advice would be to stop spending so much time on bimmerpost and go out there and make something happen.

Then again I should take my own advice...
