Clock wont show 12hr on instrument cluster

For some reason the clock on the instrument cluster under the temperature wont show the time in 12hr mode, it shows 24hr style. On the idrive it shows 12hr, in settings i checked and its in 12hr mode. But when i switch it to 24hr in settings it doesnt seem to accept the setting. Anybody have any idea what is going on? Can coding fix this problem?

For laughs, reset idrive:

Hold in radio volume control knob for 30 seconds.

Had the same problem. Checked and rechecked in the i drive square between 12 hour and 24 hour a few times and it stayed in the 12 hour and everything is ok. Good luck

Resetting it didn't do anything.

I tried nothing either. When I select 24hr it still says its in 12hr mode selected. 24hr setting doesn't seem to do anything.

Bump again. Anybody know what's wrong? Is it normal to show 24hr format in cluster?

I have the extended cluster and have coded some things on my car.

Switching between 12h to 24h mode changes both the dash cluster time and the iDrive screen time display as expected.

You are testing this with the car time after 1:00pm, right?

Yeah, just push and hold the volume button for 30 seconds or so. You can let go when the idrive screen goes blank. I'm guess that it won't help, but it can't hurt!

Seriously? About the annoying bit. I've been a 24hr person since the late 70's (my first full time job) and even before then, always thought 24hr time was the best. No misunderstandings as to what time it is.

Every time indicator in my office & home, which can be set to 24hr time is set in that manner.

Try it for a while without the frustration. You might like it.

Outside of the military, I would think 24 would cause more frustration given how few people use it, in the States at least. Were you often waking up at 7 am and unsure whether it was morning or evening?

Wow, that's like a fail-safe reboot. You're pushing and holding the volume past the click (like for on/off), right? You have to hold it it for a long time. How long did you keep it pushed? Try up to 60 seconds.

I've never seen that fail to reboot the CIC.

I been trying it but I'm so not use to it. Lol. I prefer the 12hr format.

Ooooh. The reset work. It turned off I drive and came back on. What I meant was the clock didn't get fix still. Still 24hr format.

Did you code your car? If so, have you tried resetting everything back to the factory defaults?

If that doesn't fix it, it's probably time to take it to the dealer.
