It had to happen didn't it..........!

Missus and I visited the daughter in Scotland yesterday, driving back home on the M9 just before joining the Edinburgh City By-Pass and what sounded like a rifle round off the windscreen! 'Er indoors yelped, I cursed and some lucky person who gets my car in the near future since I finally decided to change it will get a nice new windscreen! Oh and that will go nicely with the brand new rear alloy that was fitted four weeks ago!
You couldn't feckin' write it!

I can't think what it was, hell of a crack when it hit so tended to suggest something fairly heavy but it's the shape it's left that has me puzzled? Presume it was something circular or rounded to leave that shape of mark?

If you're getting rid of the car soon why not just repair the chip yourself with one of these kits:

Windscreen Repair Kit https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IPS4A..._18BnzbCE5MPYC

Thought about that but don't think that would hack it mate! Repairing the missus' alloy wheel (following your instructions to the letter! ) and repairing a surface crack in driver's seat side bolster (didn't realise that bit is actually vinyl and not leather?......BMW....bloody cheapskates!), is one thing but a cracked windscreen is in my 'too hard to do box' and I'd just be pissed off if it didn't look right! Since it's going to cost me the princely sum of £40 for my insurance policy windscreen excess ( and as 'Head Office' points out not even the cost of one shoe let alone a pair of them!) I thought aw! bugger it what the hell, and I do have a reputation to consider you know!

Heard from Autoglass today, message on voicemail, apparently my replacement screen is expected with them on 9th.....

Once they've got it they'll arrange a time and date to fit it. Whooppee!

Happened to me whilst I was negotiating to buy my current one, did same too and got it replaced, not worth the hassle when you pick up the new one.

Totally agree mate and with a windscreen excess of only forty quid it was a no brainer not to get it done, especially when a man passing on a trotting horse would have said WTF!
