2018 F34 - Wireless Apple Carplay

I just got my 2018 F34 with Executive Tier and Apple Carplay.

Did you guys know that F34 now has wireless Carplay? I thought only the 5-series had it wireless. Or is this part of some subscription that's only valid for sometime?

Available wirelessly on ALL 2018 models depending on how they are equipped. On a 5 series and up it's a stand alone option. On lower models, depending on which one, it requires ordering Nav AND/OR Wifi/Wireless charging.

Right now it's a one time payment of $300, soon to switch to subscription service.

F30 got wireless CarPlay as part of NBT Evo (one with tiles) so has been available since September 2016 in Europe.

I imagine F34 would be the same?

Seemingly CarPlay slows down with usage and becomes buggy eventually.

Saying that I wouldn't mind that problem!!

We are the beneficiaries/victims of CarPlay in two 2018 corporate products, a MiniCooper Countryman (my wife's) and this 3 GT. It showed itself to be awful and operating poorly in the Mini, so I never connected it to my phone in my GT. If avoidable, never again...certainly not if they have the gall to actually charge extra for it!

Yes, I'm surprised BMW does not promote the wireless aspect of it more prominently. AFAIK, BMW is the only manufacturer who currently supports wireless CarPlay, which seems like a real advantage.

Not having to plug your phone in to use CarPlay makes it much more useful because it's always available at a moments notice for things like Messages. I don't plan on using it often because iDrive has improved so much these last few years, but having it there for quick, specific uses is really convenient.
