M5 M6 6 Pot brakes

Has anyone fitted the M5 M6 6 port front brakes?

i want to upgrade but the standard m sport 4 pots are not really any different to what i have on a 435d. so looking at the next potential upgrade and what is involved

cheers

Did you explore AP Racing Radi-CAL or Brembo BBK? Both offer 6 piston front calipers and 4 piston rear calipers.

well i cant seem to find prices for either kit but i suspect it wont be cheap lol

i believe this is the Brembo 6pot slotted disc part number - 1M2.9041A

i believe this is the AP 6 pot grooved disc part number - CP8522Z1003R2.GA

i have asked the UK suppliers for prices and will have to wait but i suspect sourcing and fitting the m5 m6 caliper will still be cheaper. especially when looking at the design of the m5 m6 caliper as the bolts looks like they need carriers so should be a case of getting 2 custom carriers made up to fit.

Custom brackets for F10 in the link below, I guess it will be similar on F30/F32.

Cheers gave it a good read. So looks like I need customer carriers making and then m6 caliper. Disc and pads. Dust shield and hose.

Hmm not sure what is best to do

Trying to retrofit brakes not intended to be used on your vehicle is ... well ... an idea which carries risks no matter how small or large. Get the right brakes designed by a team of people specifically made for your car.

BMW must have lug mount to radial adapters for F8x CCB retrofit for M2/3/4, apart from the colour the calipers are identical to blue M5/M6 6 pots.

No idea how you'd source part #'s for adapters and the bolts only though.....Maybe talk to Evolve as they retrofitted CCB on their M2 so may have parts listed on a sales invoice from BMW ???

ok soooo BMW do not sell the radial adapters separately but actually the costs of the gold ceramic calipers isnt that much more than buying a recon set of m5 calipers and making carriers

im guessing a caliper is a caliper and i can use normal pads and steel discs with carbon ceramic caliper?

Seriously?

If F30/F32 brakes and F80/F82 brakes are not compatible, you want to seriously consider M5 or M6 used brakes because of cost?

ROFLMAO

Hooe to never be on same road as you.

Do it right or leave it alone.

Doubt it but if you can confirm part numbers then who knows....

Yes CCB caliper will work fine with steel discs and pads

Yea so the problem I had was they don't sell the bracket separate which is funny in its self when I see the kits on ebay for £4000 no brackets which means they are useless to anything other than a m5 m6

The calipers new are about 700 each. But I can't find discs to fit.

I know when you got the 380mm m4 calipers to f2x f3x you lose 10mm so they become 370 so effectively the ccb would become 400mm down to 390mm. But i would still need to source pads. Discs and correct offset bells.

Headache I gave up and fitted 20s in stead lol
