Eventually. If I can think of a good reason. Need some glass first, though.

If you listen to rodi, you only need one glass

might be a hard transition going from the 7D to the 5DmkII in some respects if you've gotten used to it.

the 7D requires a bit less thought because of some of the gadgets in in. And how the AF works.

but low like, the 5DmkII would be a breeze to get used to

yes, just hold one aspherical glass element up to the sensor and fire away.

I paid my penance at the Altar of Rodi. I spent all last week with just the 35mm on my 7D. Pretty decent bokeh, but it's not my favorite FL.

(Oops, did I say that?)

Why not Mark? The 50mm rocks on the full-frame.

I'm finding that if I can't go wide, I like long. I seem to shoot 24mm or wider a lot, or else I'm at the long end of the 24-105. I guess that's why it's said that a 50mm lens is good for learning composition, because you can't really fit a bunch of stuff in the image and then crop to suit. You need to think about the frame you have and work within it. Maybe I just need more time with the primes.

Rats, I just discovered that my wired remote doesn't work with the 7D. Looks like I need an upgraded model.

This is what I have... should work with the 7D. I tried it on the 5D3 and it worked on that too.

Thanks. I looked at this one and found too many horror stories with the 7D to risk it. Plus I don't need the fancy stuff on it. I just need a PhD version (Push here, Dummy). I ordered the Canon RS-80N3 off Amazon for $45. Probably overpriced, but no doubt dependable.

There some adapters available on ebay for a couple bucks a piece shipped.

Or if you dont need the lcd, buy the PhD version for 3-4 bucks Forget the adapter.

After paying over $6000 for a lens, I've decided to simply stick with Canon accessories. I've never had any problems at all with my Canon remote release. It is a "must have" accessory, IMHO.

I feel you. When I have a $6000 budget for a lens, I will probably have chosen brand names for a long time too! But as a starting photograph, I had to buy everything in a very short period of time (Spent as much as your lens, but all for goodies and accessories). So by cheaping out on accessories, I've managed to be able to buy a couple nice glasses other then my crappy kit lenses.

OT: Just got an email from Nikon stating that they wont honor government sales anymore. That means that I will have to pay $1000 more on my D800. I'm debating with them trying to convince them to complete the sale since the order is placed for a couple months already.

But I guess that's a sign that I should stick with my D7000 for now and buy my glasses first and then buy the D800 when the hype goes down. The pricing on the D700 is still high enough to convince me to stick with the D800.

Bummer.

So if you see a good deal on a Nikkor 24-70 and 70-200 2.8 (VRII is prefered), let me know
