Quick Questions

Hi

Just a few questions:

- When you come to a stop in a car park, you have your foot on the brake, you press the park button, apply handbrake, take foot off brake and push the stop button, but mine still has the audio and red exclamation mark like the ignition is still on, so i have to push the stop again, is this normal?

- Had a play with the voice activation and SIRI on the way to work today and its pretty good, but how do i turn up the volume of her, my music was at a good level if a little loud and when it muted for her to speak i could hardly hear her, checked the settings menu and sound but no option for it!

Cheers Gents

Danny

The ignition and radio will turn off when you lock the car.

Press volume up button when she's speaking.

When VC / Siri is talking you can adjust the volume. Just make sure you do it at exactly the same time though

It will say on the screen what volume you are adjusting as the bar goes up - thats on pro nav assume the others are the same. Will say something like Voice Command Volume, Navigation Volume, Entertainment Volume - depending on what is being playing at the time

One press for normal voice commands, long press for Siri - thats all I do.

There may be an idrive setting to enable it, what year is your car? It wasn't in earlier builds I don't believe

I'm in the same situation, non-navigation but with EBT. I can't seem to get Siri working either.

Somebody said it was a pro-media only thing? January 14 build for me.

But I would have thought the EBT would take care of that, I take it you have the full voice control with EBT?

I get full voice control of the cars menus. Not much use on a non-navigation car, I only ever seem to say 'Journey Computer'...
However, a long press seems to bring up the BMW voice control hints rather than Siri. If I hold the home button on my iPhone Siri works through the cars Bluetooth and the iDrive displays a call to my own phone number... I tried dialling my own number as a work around but with no joy.

From some googleing it appears that Siri is part of connecteddrive, which I think means you must have Nav. Without Nav it doesn't look like a goer, might be code able though

That's kind of what I'd figured. I can't complain too much. The BMW Voice Control lady in the dashboard reads out my text messages and I rarely have a need for anything else. Siri would have just plugged the gaps with BMW Office and iOS. Hopefully there will be a BMW update soon...

I had thought Siri integration was standard across the range.
