Front bumper license plate

I currently have front plates and I will be moving to somewhere that doesn't require front plates. My question is, right now I have holes in the bumper. Is it possible to get rid of the holes without buying a new msport bumper?

You have the option to order bumper plugs, they're color matched to your paint code. You can find them at bumperplugs.com. They cost around $35 with shipping.

You can also just repaint the bumper. Small holes like that can be covered up and you'll never know they were there

I'd suggest you look at some more bumper plug photos before you commit.

Yup, it's either those options or just put something else replacing the license plate.

I just got my 2nd ticket in 2 years for not having my front license plate :'(
Been driving without it for about 4 years total.
Debating about slapping it on now though.

The tow hook mount option is actually quite good. Awkward to look at when you first install it but you get used to it.

You need to ask yourself why does not having a front plate look good? Because when you look at the front end its nice and symmetrical. But when are you actually seeing it, not when your driving...When you're washing your car or standing in the driveway. So get a tow hook mount and remove the plate on the weekend when you spend a day detailing your car. That's when it will count the most right? It take 10 seconds to unscrew the mount.

This is what I got and love it. Very quick to install or remove if you want. Looks much better than the tow-hook IMHO.

Yeah you can center plate with this so visually it would look way better.

It's also double the price of my tow mount though...

Downside to Bumper Plugs is you have to drill out the holes - make them bigger.

Not bad. Have any photos of this installed? Curious how it looks on an M-sport front end.

I did bumper plugs and they look better but not great. If you have 4 holes you'll need 2 sets, or nearly $70. Probably half the cost of a respray!

Since had a deer pay for a new bumper.... with $100 deductible.

Very tempted to remove my front plate now...

Anyone in California going without a front plate?

How have you found it?

I lived in Virginia prior to moving and did not use a front plate. They were required by law and never once was I questioned in the 10 months I was there. Not sure if I was just lucky or if cops don't actually look for offenders unless you're doing something else stupid.

So I have the opposite issue. Moving to AZ from CA and just got a fix it ticket. There are no holes drilled in my bumper and I plan to keep it that way.

Any cheap suggestions on mounting it? Zip ties?

Just need a solution to get it signed off by a cop.

Drivers in CA & VA have been able to avoid tickets for a while, until they get one! Then it's a matter of which method you want to use to attach your front plate. Add the cost of the mount to the ticket. Our F30 came with holes so we're running a front tag in VA.
The non-centered tow hook mount doesn't appeal to me, but that's me.

Although initially I was reluctant to consider tow hook mount, later the decision to buy one proved to be correct. I like it. Both vehicles in the family have tow hook mounts.

These are clearly for license plate holes.

Wondering if someone knew of same idea with larger hole than the 1/4” rear for mounting where sensors once were?
