MY13 Production Complete! How long now?

Just called the 800 number and was greeted with; en-route to port of exit.

What kind of time frame am I looking at now?

This is my first 'made just for me' motor vehicle and I'm ecstatic!

(BTW, my port of entry is Baltimore I believe)

Wow, I'm surprised no one has even a general idea on time in transit.

Well mine took just less than 4 weeks from port to port but I'm on the west coast so I would think your transit time would be in the 2 week range (plus whatever time it takes to get to your dealer from there).

From the factory to the port of exit (train ride), and waiting to be loaded took approximately a week. The boat ride to the east coast is another 2 weeks. Then it sits at the port of entry for inspection, that's another 2 weeks. This is all based on estimates from other posters, as I haven't received my car yet.

From what I've read here and from what my CA has told me, once you're on a ship you can expect about 4 weeks (give or take). All really depends on how long your car sits before making it onto a ship and if it gets delayed at any of the stops it has yet to make.

It will spend 2 weeks on the water and then another 2 getting from port to dealer. Let us know how it goes!

Regardless of the car being built, if they are not shipping till a certain date, that has to be factored in. I dont believe there will be an US cars delivered before Sept, so if that is the case, you still have some time to go

I don't believe that's accurate. My car, shipping to the US, is expected to be here some time in August (mid August I hope). I doubt BMW wants to sit on cars any longer than necessary.

I agree with phitauford. My vehicle has been released to the carrier and is waiting to board the vessel. My 2013 msport should be at the port of entrance by the 29th of July so I expect to take delivery around mid August.

you do understand that under most cases, new model years start deliveries in Sept, correct? And the factory closes each summer at the same time, so....Im 100% you wont take delivery before Sept for a '13 in the states, time will prove someone right and...

The factory closing only impacts cars in production at that time. Mine is out of production. Doesn't make any sense that a carrier would sit on a car for two months. I'm confident I'll have the car in August.

This is incorrect. What's your source on this information?

Say Bob's 2013 335i M Sport entered production 6/25, and finished 7/3. His vehicle was transported to the carrier/port on 7/6. According to what you're saying, Bob's 2013 335i is going to sit here

for 8 weeks until someone at BMW says Hey, it's about that time when west-bound ships will arrive in early September. Let's start loading these 2013s on?

Is that correct?

First you say September now you say August. Make up your mind, I'm sure some M-sports will be delivered before September. What good would it do in just holding them at the port? Sounds like wasted money if you ask me..

Mine sat in port from May 18 to June 19 but that was an unusually long time -- for some reason no ships scheduled in May. Looks like the average time is 2 weeks in port.
Where is yours shipping from? Mine was a South Africa build and took from June 19 to July 8 to get to Bremerhaven. Left Bremerhaven yesterday (July 10) in Emden today next stop Davisville RI on July 20 then Baltimore July 23. So once it gets on a ship it's 10-12 days to the US and then a few days in the VPC then however long it takes to truck it to your dealer. So for me I am expecting Bremerhaven to my driveway to take between 20-30 days.

This is great info thank you!

Sorry about your long port delay.

That seems unacceptably long, even more so for an east coast delivery.

Most likely because your car was made in South Africa.
