Stowing your car for the winter?

I've made the decision that over the winter months here in New England I won't be driving my car and I've decided to stow it in an inside (garage) location. The location won't be heat but of course it will be covered. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, do's or don't they can share? Should I cover my car or leave it uncovered? Thanks

Cover it, as you never know what may happen, and use a battery tender/trickle charger. Moving the car a few inches every couple of weeks to keep the tires from developing flat spots isn't a bad idea.

I'm about to do the same here in the brutal weather of the Canadian prairies. From my list of things to continue to research to assess as potential prepatory actions:

- inflate tires to max (to prevent flat spots)
- find some kind of thick foam to place under tires (ditto)
- battery maintainer (already use)
- sock around exhaust pipe to keep out critters
- mothballs in the interior (ditto)
- fabric softener sheets inside (read somewhere this was a good idea - forget why)
- fuel stabilizer

Never thought of buying a cover - interesting.
