Awaiting F32, recommended starting mods?
Hey I have an auto 435i coming in early Jan, car is leased. I am coming from a CLK550 so I am hoping not to miss the big v8 much. I was planning on getting jb4 off the bat, first question is how much of a break in period should I allow the car before I throw in the tune. Do you guys feel with map1 alone performance will be close to my clk? Next I also am considering a down pipe, I heard the f30 downpipes fit the f32. Was looking into VSRF, what do you guys think. Thanks for the help.

I installed jb4 after 2k miles .. Dp after 2,500 ... Theirs no going back to stock .. When I return my car back to stock to bring it to dealer it latterly felt like I'm driving 2.5 Altima .. Get it modded ASAP .. You'll have so much more fun ...

I could imagine the difference, I want to atleast install jb4 asap maybe first or second month, so I can appreciate it for 3 years. Do I risk damaging anything if I tune to early? I was considering maybe 500-1000 miles. I see your from brooklyn do you go to lifequality?

Is it worth getting a used MPE, is it true the f30 fits the f32? Im looking for best bang for my buck, considering the car is a lease. |

You may not need to take it super easy like you use to (better manufacturing processes, engine burn in on the line, etc), but you should still take it easy while all the gears and various surfaces seat and wear in.

well I had a MPE from my F30--and had them put it onto my F32--with no issues (car has 350 miles on it now--yes I know! I've had the car a month and it only has 350 miles on it!) but regardless, the MPE drives/sounds/fits perfect |

BMW advises a 1200 mile break-in period.....granny-ing it at first and gradually driving it harder as the miles pass....BTW, Burger advises installing JB4 after driven 500 miles.

I could live with a few hundred miles, biggest fear is losing my warranty while bringing the car in for service, im not sure exactly how hard it is to remove the jb4 and reinstall so hopefully its not a huge inconvenience each time I have to bring in my car.

If i can get my hands on a used one I will definitely consider it. Did you see any power gains or is it mainly for the better sound? As long as you enjoyed the car those few miles thats all that matters!

I'm in the same boat. All the codes clear and leaves zero trace once removing the jb4, but it still needs to be removed before service then reinstalled. Since I'm a super novice, my tuner guy would have to do this every time which costs money. Besides, the new ppk, while more expensive, is putting out more power than the previous ppk. It shouldn't be too far off from a jb4 running map 1 with no mods.
