No need to remove the wheel, what I do is turn the wheels fully to make some space, and then jack the car up a few inches to have more room to work. The tire doesn't even leave the ground, just to get an extra 5inches of clearance I'd say.

Gotcha. And you just simply remove the wheel well access panel that you open up to get to the turn signals, and twist open the xenon bulb housing?

You don't even need to jack up the car, just turning the wheel fully is sufficient. Open the wheel well cover, twist the headlight cover off, push and move the metal plate against the bulb to the outside edge (i believe) and remove the bulb (unplugging it of course). Reverse order to put together.Takes less than 5 minutes to remove.

I LOVE my Osrams! I've had them in since a month after I bought the car.

So I just performed the install earlier today (thanks for the install tips btw!) and ran into some minor issues when trying to remove the clips. It seems like on one side you had to push in and towards the inside of the car, and on the other, it was push in and towards the outside. That and one of the connecting wires to the bulb just would not budge so I ended up using a flat head screwdriver to pry it out slowly. Otherwise, install was literally just plug and play. Just make sure you only attempt to touch the bulbs after they've been off for at least 20 mins (I was stupid enough to change them right as I got off work and may have slightly burned my finger...)
A note about the Osram CBIs: They actually turn on really blue but fade to a pale white which is almost similar, but not as yellow, to the OEM bulbs. I've read that there's a 20-30 hour burn-in time for these bulbs before they reach their true 5500k output so I will post pics when they are totally burned in. However, the light output is incredible; so much better than the OEM bulbs, with a much cleaner cutoff. Loving them so far! |

I just replaced the OEM's in my AH3 with a pair of Osram CBI's with the packaging that says "up to 5500K". I'll follow up with my thoughts after I've broken them in a little bit.

It's just like they does not fit. Look at this video View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com Is that normal or should they fit better? |

The loose metal cage is meant to stay on the headlamp, that will make life a lot easier. I had the same thing happen to me. Put the loose cage onto the headlamp and then fit the bulb into it.

I want to replace my stock 4300K xenon bulbs, but I'm debating between 5500K or 6000K. I know higher Kelvins mean less visibility, but I'm not very concerned about that. I'm not a fan of the really bluish lighting, I just want something brighter and whiter, with a hint of blue.
Infiniti uses (as far as I'm aware) 6000K as stock for their xenon headlights. My mom's bf has a G37, and I like the look and output of his headlights, so I'm leaning more towards 6000K... I've seen lots of options as far as retailers and pricing for the D1S bulbs. So my question is, what is the best quality brand of bulbs, and what should I expect to pay? I.e., I don't want to spend $70+ for bulbs that are the same quality as a cheaper, $35 pair.

I've also tried to bend the pieces away (in the pic), but not even that helped. View post on imgur.com In this video I'm trying without the metal cage. There is no difference with or without that.. Any suggestions? |

I've tested to get it in place for hours and it doesn't matters if I use the cage on the headlamp or not. It wobble around anyway. When the cage is on the headlamp and everything is on place, the cage is about 1cm from where it should be. |

I am curious if you ever figured this out? I am thinking about changing my bulbs to the CB1 soon.
