Little red stripe across the dash

Does anyone know where i can get the single red piece for my dashboard? its currently a piano black and i think the red just makes the car look sooo much sportier and adds so much character to the interior.

if anyone doesnt know what im talking about. its that bright red strip.

also planning on getting all weather floor mats with the red outline and a red accented hand break! let me know your opinion on these :-) i hope it wouldnt look like there was too many things matching and become tacky

I don't believe you can JUST replace the stripe easily. It's part of the larger piece. You'd really have to rip things apart to separate it. So it can be done, but it'll cost a bit, because you'd be replacing several larger trim pieces, unless you find someone selling theirs.

And no, I don't think it's tacky at all to match your mat stripes with the dash stripes and the accent on the brake handle etc. I have the blue and I wish they made mats with the blue accents etc. If you notice, that lines of that colored stripe extend into the doors , but those aren't colored. There was a guy that had his painted to match. That looked good too.

You can't buy the trim finisher pieces separate, they come attached to the trim piece

As stated, you have to replace the whole trim piece with a new one that has the red accent. The Sportline models came from the factory with this trim. The wheel, seats, and door panels also have red stitching.
Mine is a Sportline model and came with the piano black trim with the red accent on the dash portions. I added the e brake handle and like the look

It had the red line in my car when new and I told the dealer I wanted to black line so they just swap it with another car in the lot

I have the red accent on the dash, red trimmed e-brake handle, and the all-weather floor mats with red trim. I think it flows together nicely.

It looks great! I wish i didnt have to get a whole new trim just for the red dash accent though.

The red trim is separate from the piano black trim. I've taken it apart trust me on this.

Bought the dash trim at local bmw (schomp bmw) here in Denver. With my discount, came out to $230

You can also find if on ecs tuning

Just buy a strip of red vinyl and wrap it. $10 instead of $200 and much easier to install. If you use air release vinyl it won't bubble and you can put it on without removing the panels.

That is the very first thing i thought of and was hoping to do but i wasnt sure if i could find the correct color.

Isn't it just plain red? If not, get a picture and ask one of the vinyl sellers on eBay. They can usually match anything.

It's not like it has to match something else or any other red trim already in the car, its just red stitching if you have sport line, just get a red color vinyl.

red trim in my F30 is one of the reasons I opted for the sport line

I love it, looks sporty and adds some uniqueness to the otherwise fairly common F30

This is an old thread, but I love the red accent strip, but I can see that it might not look great on all interiors. I think you could wrap just the accent strip and have it look good. You could also have it spray painted. I wish you were in the states, I would trade you some aluminum trim for your red!

FYI--The drivers vent accent strip will unclip if you take it out of the dash...the main dash piece is a tedious task and has to be done carefully...I have done a few.
