Well, things went down a little different. lol First I wanted to test a E90 328i manual and get a feel for the clutch, see how the manual felt, reconfirm my decision to go with my first manual. Well, the dealer tells me the only manual e90 is at the other showroom.

So i moved onto plan b. See if they have a Z4 28i, basically it has the same engine N20, sports transmission ZF8speed, it has variable suspension, and it weighs nearly the same. Turns out they have one and i take it for a drive. During the test drive i mostly focussed on the transmission to how responsive it was, how fast it shifted etc... GOD DAMN!!!! That transmission is no joke. I was shocked with how fast it upshift. Felt like i was in a formula 1 car. Easily twice as fast as the shits in my 335i ZF6 auto. I was so impressed with the sports auto, i decided to change from manual to auto. It was really hard and i am still not 100% sure if i will change my mind, but i was just really surprised.

Now for the N20. Wow, tons of torque down low, i was in sport+ taking a trun onto the highway and just hit the throttle in 2nd, pinned me back in my seat. my current 328 is pretty wimpy to say the least from a 2nd gear pull in low rpm, but the N20 was very responsive and the power is there. Maybe because it was the little Z4, but the engine felt great. Cant imagine this thing with a tune. Didnt even notice the variable suspension in the z4, decided not to get it, not getting the 300 steering either.

So then the dealer finds a 328manual, clutch was super smooth, butter smooth. But i was already hooked with feeling like lewis hamilton behind the wheel

So, we sit down to order the car, gorgeous 335d, sport, space grey loaded, just sitting there. Cant even imagine the torque on that thing. Price is 57K...i tell the dealer to take 10K off, they dont so we move on to ordering lol...Decided on going with black dakota instead of red, cant go wrong with black. Then we started talking about 335 e90, but they had no 335 sport no nav to drive. Oh well.


Get this shit, while ordering the car dealer tells me, in order to get the black leather seats i need to get the fold down seats for $475... Wtf is that? I bitched and he said he would "take care of it", but is anyone else encountering this bs? Guys who are getting cold package already get fold down seats.

The salesman probably has a launch car on its way to the dealership that almost meets your exact specs and was trying to put you in it rather than just build one. Or he saw one on order in his region and was going to have it sent to his dealer. This way he can get it out this month (commission for ya).

Either way, I'd take the split folding seats to get the car sooner. If that is the only thing added that you didnt originally plan to order.

I was with the GM when we were ordering the car in the computer, there was a problem that forced me to get rear seats, but GM said not to worry"he will take care of it"

From what I can see, you're linking directly from your mail program, which will only be visible for you in that case (if at all) since you have logged into your account (and then probably have them in the cache of your browser as well). Best would be to download the pictures and upload them on some free online hoster, such as imageshack.us, tinypic.com or photobucket.com and then post them here

Just got back from the dealer(still not picking it up till this weekend) but was able to get inside and take it for a ride.

328sportline initial impressions

The drive was not long at all, maybe 7-8miles.

Impressions on interior
-sport seats are amazing. So comfortable, just as good if not better than the sport seats in my 335's...could sit in these seats all day long
-didnt pay to much attention to fit and finish of the matierials, but nothing out of the oridnary.
-I was able to find a good comfrtoable seating position using the manual levers.
-I was impressed with the HK ZPS system. I will have to do some tweaking for the equilizer, but def happy i got it(have not checkd out the regualr sound system)
-back seat room was not bad, but not great either, slightly roomier than e90, rear seats were pretty firm.

Exterior styling-
-the car looked great in mineral grey
-i am crazy about gaps in the body panels and everythign looked good and tight
-rear end of the car is awesome looking
-it has the front mount plate, but whatever, most important to me is how the car drives. I will get a euro plate or something

Driving impressions.
-holy ****! the steering is super light in eco and comfort,
-in sport and sport+ the steering felt great, no problems with feel. At low speeds you can feel the electric assist, but thats also nice when you are manuevering in a tight sport or something. At speed there is plenty of feel and feedback in the steering
-N20, very impressed. Noise was not an issue for me, i didnt hear anything that i thought was out of the ordniary. The torque felt great, power was nice(i wasnt ringing it out, its not a demo lol)
-the transmission is great, super fast shifts, i like it. Sport auto is nice to, nice aggressive shift patterns.
-My CA told me my car(328 sport) was more smooth and quiet than the base 328 they got in for demo. (he thought maybe the tires) next...
-tires, i got the contis sport 5...very happy with them, felt soooooo much smoother than the re050 i had in e90.
-handling felt good, there is some size to the car, but it felt lighter and smaller when i was driving it.
-I wasnt getting to agresive but it had good body control(i did not get apdaptive suspension). def stiffer than my base e90 328.

No, i paid $1450 for the leather. very similar to E90 leather, it works.
