With Akra and Borla on the market, they literally lost out on "first to market" strategy, as well as customer review/loyalty trickle down impact...SAD, because the product sounded amazing, and looked great too.

I can't wait for a few years, when Aftermarket folks tap into the 3-series segment aggressively...

I remember when Greg @ GTmotoring/Challenge pulled this shit with the Honda/Acura crowd about 6-7 years ago. Products were promised, orders were taken, delay after delay, 3-4 months later, no one had anything, lots of people couldn't get refunds despite their best efforts. It even happened to me, I threatened with legal action and got my refund later that week. I'm surprised though, I thought that "teething" period was over years ago...I guess not!??

I have not read through all the pages of this thread so I maybe guessing incorrectly here, but, my guess would be their would-be exhaust supplier either doesn't have the bandwidth to produce these exhausts OR the exhaust supplier raised their original quoted price point, in turn, causing a slew of problems.

Regardless of this situation, GTmotoring still knows their stuff and most likely just needs to fix their supply chain issues.

You pretty much nailed it.

That being said, I have no issues with GTmotoring aside from this instance. I've had good customer service with them when not dealing with this exhaust pre-order. I jist ordered a KW sleeve kit for my M3 from them. Their price was great and they were prompt with their help.

Lesson learned... they're great as long as they have items in stock.

What is the general consensus? Does anyone still have these on order and are they slated to get them anytime soon?

unfortunately one of our component suppliers dropped the ball on a part, trying to get it remade has taken a lot of pushing. The exhaust is still happening, just aren't going to take any other orders until this is sorted on our end.

Its been frustrating on our end getting some dates suppliers didn't hold to as well, but in the end its our butt.

Our downpipes, both Catless and with high flow cats are now back on hand this week finally is some good news for once!

I've got an order in; it's been over a month now I think. And I paid via the phone when I ordered. I knew it was a few weeks out, thought I'd have it by now though...

Your order was for a Downpipe it looks like, not catback, just FYI. This item should be good to go on Monday.

I replied in the other Challenge thread: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...=778275&page=8

Figure I'll post my remarks here too:

Because everything happened so close, I didn't have a lot of comparison time. I maybe put 30 miles on the car between the upgrades. I can say the Sport Displays were updated from a max range of 320/320 to 400/400 like others have stated. They pegged at 320/320 after the MPPK; and immediately after the DP install I spotted them ranging more towards 350hp. Further testing at WOT is def necessary, and I should try to hook up my GoPro to safely verify really. I also want to use it to get some exhaust audio. I can hear the cackle - lightly - in pretty much any gear off-throttle no matter if it's 5000 or 2500 rpms.
Overall, there's not a lot of increased sound inside or outside the cabin. There's probably 10% more when in the throttle, maybe more but nothing that's gonna turn heads. I've had cars in the past with full catless exhaust, so that's my measuring point! RPM's on this awesome 8sp trans make a difference too.

More to come. Hopefully audio/video whenever I have time.

But you are talking about the DP and not the full catback so I'm sorta confused on what you are adding
