Reviving the Dead
Good evening everyone! I do BMW repairs, but this is the first time I've seen this. Maybe someone will be interested. Customers brought in a 320 saying “we bought the car, it won’t start.” We connected the diagnostics, all the blocks that are responsible for the movement of the car do not respond, we began to look for a short circuit on the can-line, and dismantled the entire interior. We found traces of mice, but all the wiring was intact. We connected electronic units from another car, the diagnostics again does not see them. We suffered for 3 days, I don’t know what could have happened, but all these blocks burned out, and half of the body computer also burned out. It is very expensive to order all this from an official dealer; they suggested that the client install used ones from other cars. We managed to save a lot of money. We replaced the Fem module, registered the correct configuration in it, the correct VIN, and wrote down the car keys. We replaced the DME, reset the engine hours so that it could be programmed correctly, and wrote down the safety information. Replaced ACSM. They replaced and unlocked the transmission computer, because without it the car would never drive, even if programmed. We installed the transfer case control module, steering rack, ICM module, and fuel pump control module. Programmed and coded it all, the car came to life and ISTA shows 0 errors. It’s even interesting to do such projects yourself when there are some non-standard cases.
