My car finally went into production after almost a month!!! I've got a feeling that this going to be a very long month for me. For those that have had to endure this long wait, how did you spend your time waiting?

So for me... I've...

• Watched all of the videos on the bmwusa site
• Read the manual. I'm sure I missed something so I'll read it again
• Picked out some new wheels
• Picked out some other mods like a front splitter and rear wing
• Learned (or at least read up on) how to code. Gotta get with Shawn Sheridan
• Called BMW USA toll free number to check on the status of my car everyday

I chuckle when I see posts like this. Why? I ordered my 435GC August 22nd. It went into production January 15th! That is a 5 month delay! Yes, I have watched many videos. I have visited my dealer numerous times and seemingly sat for hours in showroom vehicles. I have downloaded, read and memorized the entire manual. I have agonized over my build and changed it many times. I have endlessly bugged my SA and BMWUSA to a point where they probably regret selling me the car.

But.... the car is now done production and awaiting a ship date at which point I am sure that I am going to track every nautical mile of the cargo ship until arrival. So my advice to you is that 2 months is not that bad. The wait will only make you appreciate your F3? that much more.

Hell my car was at the dealership in stock and I could barely stand the one week I had to wait, ordering a car would kill me.

LOL i waited a month to enter production to find out they ordered the wrong trim... had to reorder...at least we are skipping the winter!

You don't mean trim like interior trim do you? I really hope you don't have to re-order for this.

I assume you mean trim as in line? Sport, Luxury, MSport?

Trim as in the Interior Trim...I ordered it with the Ash Grain, the order got messed up and went in as Walnut. I didn't mind but when I saw the build online I couldn't do it...brown with black, not a nice combo. I rather wait...

They couldn't just change the trim at the port or factory or the dealership... like wtf...

Exacly what i was saying. its weird because my quote order had all the correct info on it, not sure how they messed it up. dealer offered me $10 off the monthly payment or a reorder.

The wait is killing me too!

My dealer ordered my car, F36, from BMW two days ago, tue 3rd feb, and I have week 13 as my delivery date (march 23 - 27).
Reading how long others have to wait I am a bit sceptic that the date I got is too early.
On the other hand my cars shipment is kind of short - Germany to Norway, which saves time.

My theory is that with record BMW sales, production and shipment has been taking longer than usual. My GC completed production 2 weeks ago and as of today remains at the port awaiting shipment. It has not been assigned a vessel and even my CA can't tell me when I can expect delivery. Very Frustrating!

+ looked at every Youtube video I could find
+ went to the dealers when they were closed just to browse
+ trolled the forums endlessly
+ I did a PCD so I googled everything I could find on that
+ built about 5 more cars on BMWUSA just because
+ contacted several different insurance companies for quotes

And...if you think the wait is bad now, just wait until the status switches to "in route" where is locked on a boat for two weeks and nothing updates.

A little pain now will bring a lot of enjoyment later.

You haven't planned your mods yet! What good is a bmw without an upgraded engine tune, exhaust, suspension, cold air intake , speakers, etc.
Just to have their options on your car is halfway completed. There is much to be done while you wait!

Placed order June 18 2014...

Delivered and drove off lot August 29 2014 - I could have picked it up a week earlier but wanted to schedule vacation time off appropriately.

I pick up mine this week. So much to do....

1. Install Winter Tires
2. Add MPPK
3. Add M Performance Rocker Panels
4. Clear Bra
5. Window Tint
