Good deal ?

Hello,

I was offered a price of $39,061 for a 328 Msport with the msrp of $43,170.

The options in the car are
1) Metallic pain
2) Sport automatic
3) M sport
4) Harman Kardon

Please let me know if the $39,061 is a good price before I go tomorrow friday to the dealer.

Thank you in advance

I think it's a great price if it does not include the $1,000 year-end incentive. If the $1k BMWFS already included, might be able to get it down a littel more but probably not much.

1) It doesn't include the sales tax. After the price they want to charge dealer fee of $599 + tag & registration + 6% sales tax.

2) I will try to get it down to 38,000 .

Was able to get the car down to $38,250 and that's including all the incentives. At that point I wanted to trade my car which is a 2004 BMW 530 with sport, premium and sound package, the car has 117,000 miles but is in very decent condition. The trade in price for fair is $8000 but the dealer offered 6250. At this point im waiting for the dealer to increase the trade in price. To be honest my car is running so good that Im not in a rush to buy the new one unless I get all the right parameters to what I have in plan.

Since you cut the cost of the new car to so low, dealer's not gonna want a trade-in. Remember after he buys it from you he has to re-flip it to another buyer, more work for him. At most he'd prob give you 1k under what you can get from a private buyer.

What source are you using for trade-in price? If KBB, know that they are typically a bit inflated. Edmunds is supposedly closer to the mark. If you get $7k I think you'll be doing well.

Dealer bases tradein on what Mannheim auctions says is average.

Try Carmax. You won't save the sales tax on the $6250 but it may be worth the difference Carmax is willing to pay.

After a lot of txt message exchange with the salesman, the dealer offered $7250 for the car and I finally agreed and close the transaction.

BMW of Pembroke Pines in south Florida and Les Cutler were very professional. If anyone is interested in buying a car in FL should give them a try. Don't forget to negotiate until you feel you reached a fair deal for both !
