Question for Canadian JB4 Owners
Hi everyone!
Recently I've ordered the JB4 Stage 2 Tune with the Bluetooth connector, EWG Harness adapter, and not with the Billet aluminum enclosure. Not sure if that one was a smart idea, but it's a done deal. I personally already have a few bolt on mods, which are the following: - Injen intake - ER Chargepipe - Armytrix catless downpipe - Armytrix full suite exhaust The small issue I'm currently running into is that in Canada, the only pump gas that offers 93 or above is Chevron (94), and I need atleast a 93 to run map 2. I'd love to ask you guys how much of a difference between map 1-2 is so I can see what the difference may be, and to see whether it's worth to spend the extra few sense for the power increase. I've also read that it's recommended to use map 2 with bolt on mods. |

what's the issue exactly? you could just run map 1 and if you feel you need a little bit more, run map 2 with 93+ (I would run the Chevron 94 sense is available to you). I'm not sure what your gas prices are there, but definitely test on your own. It doesn't take long to swap maps with your set up. EWG wires aren't required for use of map 1 & 2

if performance is what your looking for, then spend the few cents and run map 2. I don't mind spending the extra money for the 93 unless I'm in my area to blend e85(Which is cheap)

Say you do 15,000Km per year You average 9.5L per 100km 15,000/100 = 150 Literes used = 150 x 9.5L = 1,425 Liters per year @1.46 per Liter = 1,425 x 1.46 = $2,080 @1.50 per Liter = 1,425 x 1.5 = $2,137 Honestly we not talking big bucks. Pay the extra, get more power, get better fuel which is better for your engine |

Thanks for all the replies,
- There's petro canada and esso, but they only carry 91 sadly - I also appreciate the math! I'll probably be running 94 from now on at chevron, Also, When I install it, should I just keep it at map 1 until I empty out the tank and fill it with 94 then switch map 2? |

Just log the car on 91 and see how its having. The 94 octane is good gas, so map2 won't have any issues on it. There is a pretty big difference between map1 / map2 Mike |
