Will this custom exhaust idea work?
Hey guys,
I currently have an OEM 435i exhaust on my 428i and I like it, but it's slightly too quiet for me. I once had a muffler delete when I just got the car, but removed it after a few days because it was just too loud for me. My idea now is to chop off one end from the 435i exhaust, where the valve is, and make a straight pipe out of it. So basically, I want a muffler delete - but with the OEM butterfly valve. Is this worth a try? Thanks!

I won't attempt to give you any advice here because I've got no clue, but I didn't know exhausts were interchangeable between models. Does this mean a 335 exhaust will bolt up to my 328? Sorry, not trying to jack your thread dude, just interested.

Yes, either what he said, or you can just cut and weld. Totally reversible.

its irreversible, you just have to pay to install the new exhaust and pay to install the old exhaust thats the only pain in the butt about modding leased cars

All the pictures I've seen of the "stuffing" being removed from the mufflers is always done from the top. I don't know if it's for cosmetic reasons being that the welds would be hidden or if there is another physical reason why the bottom cannot be cut.

I too am interested in this. I have a 335 exhaust on my 428 and I would like it to be a little bit louder.
