Seriously? That boat is moving pretty good. I was expecting late afternoon. No port installs available for GCs. What did you decide on getting installed?

Yep, it's in Port. Looks like you two are closer to Port and will presumably have your car ahead of me here in AZ; enjoy!

FYI, interesting info about the VDC and what happens to the car now that it's there.

I actually took a tour of that VDC 3 years ago and it was pretty cool. My CA, Jon Shafer, set it up. Unfortunatley for us, our ED cars do not get all the protective wax. The cars are loaded on to the boats the same way they were dropped off. Let's hope our vehicles were not damaged during transport and delay our re-delivery.

The M Performance exhaust will sound really nice.

Here are mods I'm doing myself:

Angled 9 slat grilles (keeping the surrounds chrome for now).
Painted front reflectors
19" 442Ms in Ferric Grey
Still debating about the rocker panel decals.

Bill - You doing any mods?

Thanks for asking. Nope, no mods of any significance for either vehicle, just window tint. I was going to chrome the wheels, but I'm having a love hate relationship with the 435i's 19" 442M Orbit Grey that will help hide the M Brakes excessive brake dust, and I'm getting a lot of feedback that chrome is out... and that I need to leave my 1979 Cragar SS Mag look in the past. Same debate with the 550i, but mostly because the stock wheels are rather bling-ish already so I'm thinking of saving the $1,000 for chrome. Both vehicles are Black with no chrome trim as a result of the M Sport Package, so I was thinking the chrome would make the car a bit more flashy, but so far, the feedback I'm getting from my car buff friends is don't go chrome. I attached BMW images of each new car (and of my present cars). As you can see, I strive for a "less is more" approach to styling and have a certain addiction to black paint - in fact, I often claim it was I who originated the saying, "once you go black you can't go back"! I've had only black cars since I was 18...
Side note on the topic of black paint: on the factory tour the guide commented, black paint is the least expensive of paint... hmmm, I wonder why BMW didn't pass those savings on to me, I certainly have enough of it!

You forgot to list the aluminum pedals (ha ha). Since you are going for the bad boy look, how come you aren't getting the rocker panel decals?

Bill - your friends are right, DO NOT chrome the wheels! That is so Lexus. However, if you like chrome, you might consider changing out your bimmerangs to chrome. I started a thread on Bimmerfest about this but everyone who posted did not like that idea. Someone even photoshopped my picture and changed to chrome and I then saw it was not a good idea on Glacier Silver. But I do think chrome bimmerangs on your black car would give nice contrast and go with the chrome grille surrounds and tail pipe tips.
Hey, If you ever want to swap your Orbit Grey 442Ms for my Ferric Grey 442Ms, let's meet half way in Vegas. If I could have Orbit Grey, that would be the start of the bad boy mods.

F36 Pilot, I just noticed your license plate on the photo of your car in an earlier post - interesting, just four digits different than the first of mine, the other of my two car's is a digit higher, M 1336 Z. Small world.

Thanks for the advice. I'll get get to the Bimmerangs in a moment...
Funny on the wheels, when I ordered my FIRST 435 (long story actually related to the Bimmerangs) the 2014 came only with Ferric Grey. I thought I was getting Ferric Grey on my 2015 and only learned of the change when I got ED. No worries, I thought, since I'm chroming them. But as previously stated, I have a love hate relationship with Ferric Grey (I do believe that's one of the 50 shades of gray!) that I'm likely going to explore. Now, why a FIRST order, and a Second order, and well, actually, a THIRD!!! order? When car 1 got here I realized it had chrome trim on the sport package that I had ordered - silly me just assuming that all sport trim was shadowline. So the dealer graciously kept that car for his inventory and ordered number 2 with the M Sport package. Then my mother in law gave the guilt trip about she's old and wants to go to Paris before she's too old to travel, so I called the dealer and asked to change number 2 to ED so I could use Munich as the launch point to get to Paris. Of course, that was a "laugh", so I agreed to buy two cars instead of one to ease the extreme "pain" I was inflicting on the dealer. So number 3, being the ED 2015 435i went into production along with the 550i. And now, to prove how capricious I really am, I'm debating with my self whether I should have gone for an M4 and M5 - but that is NOT a call I want to make to my dealer! Maybe next year :-) In summary, I like black bimmerangs.

Wow....what a story. I know you don't always drink beer but when you do, I believe you prefer Dos Equis.

Did you say M4 or M5? Haha. That's the goal eventually for me as well. This is my first BMW. After a test drive I was hooked. My 3 month wait is almost over.

So did you guys talk to your CA yet? Mine told me best case scenario, I would have car by end of the month but it could take up to 30 days as it is peak season for ED returns. He said once it gets through Customs and into VDC Processing, he could better pinpoint an ETA.

My dealer said no more than 5 days after it arrives at the VDC. I'm praying for delivery this weekend.

7 to 10 for me in AZ. Hopefully it's a case of under commit and over deliver.

My CA sent me a reply today that he still can't give me a definite ETA. This is worse than trying to figure out where the boat was.
