It's your car mate, just get what you like. I mean really, if someone asks you why you got a certain combo are you going to say, "because most F30post members liked it"?

I have imperial blue with saddle brown and I am totally happy. Blue looks amazing especially on the luxury line. The above jet black car is a base line.
C heck out my own threat and ED threat from Drivenbye30. You will be convinced to go for Imperial Blue imho.... http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=705878 http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=703355 http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=696214 Last edited by robin147; 06-30-2012 at 04:43 PM.. |

Imperial Blue.. it has a very nice shine under the sun, it's the new black and, well, doesn't half the world already have black and white cars?

Definitely Imperial Blue. In low lighting, IB looks black anyway, so it's like having 2 colors at once. Additionally, though I've not owned one, I've heard that Jet Black is a very soft paint prone to scratches/swirling. IB seems like it would be easier to maintain.

Have not seen Jet Black in real life but Imperial Blue is stunning. In low light conditions, it's so dark it's almost black. But sparkles in the sun.

The above jet black car is a base line.
What makes you say that? It has color matching side mirror caps, the luxury line multi spoke rims and chrome package around the window (not shadowline); those are all Luxury Line bits. |

I know from dutch f30 forum that this is a baseline with upgraded chrome package around the window (dealer option) and luxury line wheels. Mine is a baseline too, the rear bumper and B-pillar betrays me.... http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=705878 Last edited by robin147; 07-02-2012 at 10:25 AM.. |

Would have to say that both the black and the blue look gorgeous when the car is new. Blue probably has the edge for me, but it's personal preference really.
However... as ZMM_OMG mentioned, 'swirl' is something to consider with darker colours, and I imagine in a warm dusty climate you'll need to be very careful about how you clean your car. I've seen 2-3 year old cars that are 'clean' but which have dreadful swirl because the owner presumably either doesn't care or didn't take steps to minimise the problem when cleaning. I'm lazy, I went for red

I have Imperial Blue with Saddle Brown and it is beautiful. Others are right, unless you are out in the sun it looks black anyway. Out in the sun it sparkles a gorgeous blue.
I think the combo of Imperial Blue with Saddle Brown is perfect. Orange and blue are complementary colors and the saddle brown definitely has an orange-y / copper-y tint to it. I have had a lot of compliments on the colors. I also went with the Anthracite wood and I'm very glad I did - in the sun it has a bit of copper-y look to it as well and compliments the other colors very nicely and provides a nice transition between the two-tone (black / saddle) dashboard. You can't go wrong with Imperial Blue and Saddle Brown. |
