USB Update Help Needed

OK I'm trying to update my Bluetooth Interface. I have 6NH.

I've downloaded the relevant file from www.bmw.com/update

This file is:
UPD03002 (Latest Version, 5.93 MB)
"Update for vehicles with production date from Juli 2011 to present"

This downloads as UPD03002.bin
I then unzipped to get the following files:
SWIP_00001122_007_000_075 (xml doc)
SWUP_00001120_007_000_075.bin
SWUP_00001123_007_000_075.bin

I've put theses onto a memory stick and plugged into USB socket in armrest but on selecting update software option in the iDrive there is no USB recognised. Have tried two different USB sticks, tried reformatting them and there's no other files on them.

Any help appreciated.

Try plugging in the drive and leaving for a few minutes before attempting the upgrade. This happened to me (on F10) I 'THINK' that's how I resolved it.

Thanks I've tried that. Left it in for several minutes and nothing.

Don't unzip anyhing. iDrive does that. Put the raw download on there. Make sure nothing else but that one file is on the thumb drive. Don't put it in a folder, has to be in the root of the thumb drive alone.

Start the engine, wait for iDrive to fully boot up, past splash screen, etc.

The thumb drive goes into the armrest USB port, not the glove compartment.

After the thumb drive is inserted, wait 20 seconds, let it be recognized. Don't rush it.

Go to settings, hit Update, it'll work.

Thanks I'll give it another go. I did try it once without unzipping but then read somewhere that it needed to be unzipped - can't remember where though.

I'm definitely using the right port in the armrest.

Check your USB Stick is FAT32 formatted.
Do you download it trought VIN? If not, you have probably the wrong update

A Funny Thing:
on BMW.com with my VIN i get:
UPD01005
Update for vehicles with production date from March 2012 to present

on BMW.de with my VIN i get:
UPD01005
Aktualisierung für Fahrzeuge mit Produktionsdatum von März 2010 bis heute
http://www.bmw.de/de/de/owners/conne...update_vin.jsp

why in german it say's from March 2010 and in US March 2012 i dont unterstand
To update it i only put the UPD01005.bin file in the root folder from the usb-stick
Dont needed a running engine, just wait he initialized all files on the stick (if you get music or so it should be ok )
