In your opinion is it worth disengaging the exhaust valve?

Also, looking forward to a vid
It was very little work to disengage and fix in position with some galvanized wire...I'm pretty sure the only time it is closed is on startup...so the startup/cold idle seems a little bit louder for 30 seconds, but I really don't think it makes a bit of difference any other time.

How do you like the H&R sport springs? Do you think they're still well matched to the dampers even though they're stiffer than stock? Do you typically have the suspension in comfort or sport mode?

I really like them so far. I have been driving in sport and sport+ most of the time. I TRY comfort and ecopro...but it never lasts...I'm hooked on sport mode. Here is my short write up on the springs, I'm still working on pics, I should have my new wheels tomorrow and then it will be "camera ready" http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=755246

DEFINETLY a more distintc burble on shifts (I have a 6MT)

NO Drone --took it up to 90 mph.

DEFINETLY sound difference on "sport" mode.

and the tips look amazing!

Glad to hear you are liking it. I've logged a few hundred miles on mine and I'm noticing more and more of a difference. It's still a subtle difference overall, but at times is quite noticeably louder depending on the load/RPM. It sounds great on cold start (valve fixed open) and under load. I had someone rev the engine for me while I stood outside the car, and it really isn't very loud just revving at a standstill (except the burble). I will do my best to make a decent quality drive-by video, because I really don't think the clips free-revving with no load do it justice.

so i did the "golf tee mod" aka wire valve open...and honestly, I dont get the excitement that some of you have shared---I see little to no difference in sound when driving, shifting...etc...its really no different. I've also only driven about 35 miles since installing the mexhaust, and my car only has 180 miles on it total...so hopefully as some of you have been posting, it gets better with more usage..I guess time will tell. But I definetly do not see all the hype over this mod, or the actual exhaust after 1 day of driving-- other than the burble on shifts at slower speeds.

Yeah I have -- I had the stock exhaust-- it sounds different from stock, a little more throaty-- I guess theres a difference-- a couple of my co workers noticed it today and said it sounds "much nicer and better" to them-- so from that perspective, that's a good thing

See my post above about the "golf tee" mod:
"...I'm pretty sure the only time it is closed is on startup...so the startup/cold idle seems a little bit louder for 30 seconds, but I really don't think it makes a bit of difference any other time."

I can only tell a difference from the golf tee mod when I first start up in the garage. Apparently it made a big difference on the E9x?

Regarding the exhaust in general, I barely noticed any difference when I drove away from the dealer after install, but I really notice it now after several hundred miles...it took some time to experience all of the different driving situations where it's most noticeable. Sometimes it's a pretty dramatic difference, other times it's very close to stock.

Can you elaborate on that

Glad to hear that--like I said I havent driven it much at all--so we will see how that goes in the next few days/weeks.

100% agree with you on start up--for the first 20-30 seconds or so, it sounds great..then mellows down quite a lot...

I love the M-Performance exhaust! Had mine dealer installed before delivery. Sounds great especially with the golf-tee mod.
