Buyers Remorse
Buyers remorse is a terrible thing. My previous car was a E90, 2009 335i that I bought new in 2009. I loved the car. I think 2009 was the last year the 3er had hydraulic steering and 2 turbos.
I kept the car until a year ago, when I left BMW for the flashy new C450 AMG sport. I almost bought a 340 xdrive (wish I did), because I prefer the exterior look of the 3 series, but it was the Benz interior quality that attracted me, as well as my wife urging to try something new. The C450 is fast, I don't know if it's faster than the 340, but it doesn't matter, they are both powerful enough, the problem is, there is just something about the inline 6 that I miss. I'm not able to describe it properly, but the AMG V6 is just not the same. Am I crazy? Man!, I regret getting the C450. The stupid minivan shifter in the Benz is driving me crazier each day. I guess I'll be first in line next year for the new G20, I can't wait to get another BMW. I'm curious for the opinion of others who have driven the C450 |

It's the throaty bark of an inline 6. V6s pale in comparison.

I've test driven a C450 and let me tell you, I would take that car over my 435i any day. Only thing my 435i has over it imo is exterior styling. In terms of interior quality and performance I'd give it to the C450

I traded my 2008 E92 in for a 2012 Mercedes C Class. Hated it. 11 months later I was back at the BMW dealer trading my Mercedes in for an F30. Lost my ass on the trade, but was glad to be out of a Mercedes and back in BMW.

The interior quality of the Benz is undeniable, that was what attracted me to it. The steering column shifter though, I hate it.

I daily drive between a 435 and a C43 (same engine as a C450). I have felt no fundamental difference between the V6 and inline-6 configuration. The merc is actually faster off the line on paper. I think you might be missing more than the inline-6...maybe you miss the confidence a bmw inspires and how it handles like it's on rails. Don't sweat it - buy an AWE exhaust for your C450 and it'll be a hoot.
