This looks great!. I was wondering about how you were able to separate the feet from the crossbar to wrap it in vinyl?

There seems to be no open ends anywhere or screws and so forth.
Thanks for your response.

I wonder if this is exclusive for the F34...and if more parts are marked like this.

I don't remember clearly, but I think that if you open the covers (with the key) you will see the screws that hold the boots on to the crossbar.

I have to tell you, it really sets the car apart. I get a lot of compliments from people at the trails. Everyone thinks its a super expensive full carbon fiber rack.
Another plus, is that the actual aluminum is as fresh as day one since its not being in contact with the environment.

Are you planing on doing it?

Yes I am very interested in doing this.

However there are no exposed screws in the foot of the crossbar or the foot itself. Contacted Thule and they have no idea either as they did not make the rack. This rack was manufactured for BMW in Poland. Not sure who manufactures it though.

Here is a thread I already started on it but no responses. F31 roof rack help http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1212314

Sorry man for the late reply, I havent been to this site lately.
Ok, so look at the picture attached. As you can see the screws that hold the boot to the rail are hidden on the bottom part of the rail. They are easily removed with the crossbars off the car of course.

Hope this helps

Cheers,

I will post a DIY on how to make this fairing work virtually on any roof rack regardless of the crossbar width or the pillars being in the way. This is the main issue with the inno fairing.

In my opininion it looks very clean and complements the roofrack.

I was wondering if you ever created that DIY as I would like to install the fairing but am running into the same issue with the pillars being in the way.... Thanks

Hi Brandon,

Here is the DYI on the Fairing to make it fit any size crossbar.
The "red" spacers that you see in the illustration, I made using regular black PCV tubes (the sprinkler type you find at any homedepot work perfect) cut to size with a handsaw.
The long m6 bolts you can buy at any hardware store like fastenal.

Hope it helps!

If you have any questions, dont hesitate on contacting me.
Cheers and good luck!

It's not run flats, it's low profile run flats. I have no complaints about my RFTs, but my tires are 225-55. The stiffness of RFT sidewalls and low aspect tires just don't mix. IMO they should make regular tires standard with 45 series or lower tires and RFT optional rather than the other way around.

Yeah goj, I agree, they are sweet! The icing on the cake will be if they were 20"s. I believe the size of the GT can handle them and would look much better proportionally...

I ordered my car with the M brake package, and the wheels really complement the calipers.

BTW, have you had any issues running non-runflats in your car? what do you do if you get a flat?

I don't have them since I want to wear out my run flats first. But a can of emergency tire foam should do the trick of need be.

I love the ride with these tires. I'm close to the 30K mark. (the first 10k on RF)
The car is much smoother, handles way better when cornering and the wear on the rubber is at least 1/2 - In a few words, a no brainer. My only regret was not to do it earlier to save tread on the RF to put them back on when returning the lease.

TIP TO ALL THE LEASING MEMBERS OUT THERE... get non runflats when the oem tires are half way and store them until you are ready to return your car)
