Hi guys got a funny one hope you can help please, got a bmw 318d f30
When I turn left to right make like a ting ting ting noise almost like dunk dunk
The technical terms lol, any ideas guys on this vague description it's not a knocking noise
Any help will be much appreciated thanks

Ask in there; but I'd say you've got some of the recognised steering rack issues

But; it could be top mounts, other suspension parts also

Most likely this is the steering rack thrust piece needing a common repair. Can't find the BMW TSB.

yup... it took me years to find out...

I have yet to go through that procedure, that is next on my list, as this steering clunking noise is so annoying me for the past several years...

despite me having changes all the suspension bits and arms and bushings...

It's the strut top mount bearing is it best to buy just the bearing or the complete strut top

It’s probably not that but not expensive to replace. You can’t buy just the bearing. It’s a little assembly that looks like a top hat. In the US runs around $80 per side.
