BMW Connect app for 3 series??

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Called SOS to setup my account on my new 3 series and they said I could start using the bmw connect app for my car. I download the app and set it up and it says my 328xi is not a vehicle supported by the app. Anyone get the app to work for their 3 series?? Do I need a certain package to be able to use it??

Thanks!!

Are you referring to the ConnectedDrive app? If so it requires the BMW Apps option on your nav system. See if you have "ConnectedDrive" in your iDrive main menu. Go there, launch the app and connect your USB cable to the car.

My car has nav [but not tech package] and it works fine.

Works fine for me too, as long as I use the USB cable. Wish it worked over Bluetooth.

I meant the BMW remote that allows you to lock/unlock, honk horn, etc. I've been trying and it keeps saying that my vehicle isn't supported??

Yup, there are two Apps that BMW has out:
  • My BMW Remote. Handy for "finding car" in big parking lot because you can flash lights or honk horn remotely -- but it does take a minute or two.
  • ConnectedDrive. Allows calendar and other apps to used in iDrive (Android version is VERY LIMITED)
I have Android phone (Samsung S4) and have both on them, but think My BMW Remote is the only one that is useful

Hope that helps
