The troubling part is that based on their history when/if they do make a big software changes, they won't offer it to older NBT MY cars.
Yeah, the operation of the NBT is virtually the same as the CIC. If you know one, you'll understand the other.

I disagree that they'll leave out older NBT units from software changes. A 2013 CIC car has the same features as a 2009 CIC unit. I expect Siri Eyes Free to be an update, this summer. Of course the touch controller (or whatever they'll call it) will probably not retrofit easily into current NBT cars. But who knows.

I just had a loaner 2013 5 with the NEW nav and its so much faster.. i hate mine now. When i zoom in or out it always takes a few seconds. The new one was almost instant like my acura was.
plus it had an auto zoom out feature like many phones or gps units have.

I really liked on RADIO it would display album art like ipods do.

Yes, crazy fast. Especially when scrolling through lists like your phone book. It also displays artist and song info on non-RDS FM stations, from what I can tell.

I am not sure about that. E90 CIC MY2010+ had a hardware update that enabled new software features like satelite view. It ended up being not just a software update, as MY2009 could not get those new features even with the same ISTA/P or nav. sys. versions that a MY2010+ system would have.
RE: Thread 336127

I am hoping NBT nav has a much larger nav database installed. If so, it may not fit in the allotted HDD space in CIC.

NBT Nav has 65.5GB worth of map data.

Yesterday, I had a 328i F30 loaner, of course with the old Nav. The difference in speed was very noticeable. Even when scrolling through a list of FM stations, there is a hesitation. Move the knob 5 clicks, it waits a 1/2 second before actually going. With NBT, it is truly instant.

Quoting myself here.. but it appears BMW is removing 6NL Enhanced Bluetooth/Smartphone integration from the Technology Package, and re-coding it as 6NS, across multiple models/countries. Tech Package will be cheaper as a result, and 6NS will be a few hundred dollars. The net cost for ordering both should be within a few hundred dollars of when they were bundled.

I noticed this on the 2014 F25 X3 order guide for the US. So you can expect the 2014 F30 to be the same.

6AC - BMW Assist eCall (same as BMW Assist, free for 4 years?) is now standard on the F25.

Do you guys think a Mid-March build will have the NBT navi in the US ? I keep reading different things pertaining to when it will be released on the F30s in the states.

The spec sheet says 200GB HDD with a 20GB available for Music. Matches spec for NBT in the powerpoint that BMW published last summer. Also, it says ADVANCED Real Time Traffic (another indicator)...

Third, Concierge is offered as an option.

All 3 add up to me to say NAV PRO !!!
