Window trim

Hey guys can you go take a look at your rear windows from the outside and see if it has a rubber moulding going around. I just noticed both my front and rear windows have no moldings.
Wondering if this is a cost measuring device by bmw or factory forgot to install it.
Thanks

Mine's the same way...but there is a rubber gasket just below the glass. Dunno why they did it this way, but apparently there's a reason. No leaks as far as I can tell.

Just washed my car today and noticed the same as well. From what I recall my old E90 was the same as well. Never had any issue with leaks on either car.

The window gaskets on previous models would dry out over time, especially in sunny locales. Eliminating it saves $ and aggravation for customers.

Noticed that on my f30 hire the other day IMO dont like it looks cheap, I understand the seals would perish in hotter climates but thats what R&D is for they could have made easier to replace cheaper seals then taking them away.

Makes it look cheap I think, similar in the engine bay where on f30 they are removed a lot of the trim covering the brake system and the likes. It was good dust protection but no more. Accountants desinging cars it seems

for a 50,000 plus car, I want my gaskets, it really looks like it was stolen, at least it keeps the water out

its not the case of tube of silicone it just looks incomplete, cheap budget cars look like this not premiium brand. Its cost cutting like few other bits I Spotted. Ening bay trims, interor storage. They got rid of the storage box under the headlight switch which was great for sunglasses. Hate when bean counters get involved

There is still a storage area under the headlight switch. But I hear that if you have a certain package it may be removed/used.

Sounds about right use to be included in the M sport trim really annoying typical way of offering a car cheap and making $$$ on basic options. Merc is doing the same with crazy basic options and then everything is extra. Soon they will charge extra for headlights and wheels

under headlight control storage gets deleted if you get the drivers assistance package. I have the blindspot monitor there, I dont know why they couldnt just implement the on off for that in i-drive, instead of a button, nothing wrong with it always being on.
