No, that's not for coding. The USB cable is for updating and modifying your JB4. Check this thread out if you need a cable for coding, or just to get started in general: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=696777

Yeah, you can. What I did was buy some of the parts to build it from an electronics store, except the OBDII, I bought that online. Then I gave the build instructions to a computer repair guy since I suck at soldering, and he did it for like $10-$15.

That is mad genius. I have 3 more weeks in the states so I may just do that, I could probably get most parts at like a radioshack...but I really wish the main man was still building them for $25...or even $45!?

I don't think RadioShack is too broad with resistors when I checked for the parts there. Check if there's a Fry's Electronics in your area, they should have those parts. If not, I would just look up some local electronics shop, request the parts and see if they have it in stock.

As for the ODBII connector, I happened to have a cheap one laying around when I had an Audi, this one specifically:
Link to Amazon
I just brought it in to a computer repair shop, asked to desolder the USB cable, and follow the diagram on the thread I linked you earlier. Good luck, my friend!
