Cdn spec headlight washers?
Do any Canadian owners have the headlight washers?
I noticed today that I don't have them and I've got a sinking feeling this is another one of those features we don't get here. |

In Australia, headlight washers are an option only and must be fitted if Xenon headlights are ordered.

I had heard that the Xenon lights were usually paired with the headlight washers, which is why I was curious about this. I have the Canadian Premium package which includes Xenons, but I don't have the front bumper cutouts that indicate the presence of the washers.

It's odd that it is missing because I have it on my 2006 Z4M Roadster.

I think for US spec cars the washers come with Cold Weather Package. In other markets if laws specify that it must be fitted with xenons then it'll come as standard with xenons, otherwise it'll be an option.

It seems that in Canada the hot weather version (code 823) is standard and there is no option for the cold weather version. It's not like we get snow and ice here in the far north!

Hot climate version has to do with things like radiator fan power & additional cooler for certain engines, it cannot be specified nor deleted by the customer. Cold Weather Package is an option package which can be ordered by the customer. One is a simple optional equipment package whereas the other is a market dependant spec variation.

I have them as well but can't say I like them either. Same as with you, often when I spray the windshield, they come up too.. not always though, dunno what exactly triggers it. BUt yeah, as soon as they do, the whole car gets wet :/

Not to mention it empties the tank holding the fluids three times as fast

Nope, not the nirmal way. But you can disconnect the hoses on the washers. They operate with water pressure. Just double a hose and hold together with a tie wrap
