£2200 is for wheels and tyres. The pirelli tyres alone are worth at least £1K, so wheels have cost £1200 with TPMS if from BMW. Even if you completely kill the tyres, used OEM 405s are popular and quite rare so tend to be worth around £1K without tyres if in half decent condition. Total cost of OEM 405 ownership = approx £1200 20" 405 Reps with fairly decent tyres cost you £1400 (£600 wheels + £800ish tyres) Assuming you also completely wear out the tyres the wheels will be worth at most £400 if you wanted to sell them. Total cost of rep ownership = approx £1k So if buying new you only save about £200 to have replica wheels that are much heavier and more likely to have issues. Or buy used OEM and they are practically free |

There is absolutely no issues with the ride quality with the 405's, P zero run flats and roads in the UK. I drive to central London a couple of times a week and there is no crashing around at all. The ACS springs firm up the ride, but if riding the standard soft comfort suspension it feels absolutely fine. So many say 20 inch alloys and run flats are an awful ride and i dont agree with that in the slightest. Certainly not on the F30 LCI.

I would not even consider going back to 19" as the 20s look so much better. I have only had my car a month and had a few comments already. |
