Let's see your dirty pictures!

No not those ones

Most of us are crazy about keeping our cars clean, but sometimes it's ok to let them get a little mucky when you don't have time to wash it

I'll start off with my Estoril Brown

PS. It's getting a bath tomorrow

Bit of background. My mate had quite rightly advised me not to bother with the BMW 'paint protection treatment' on delivery and had kindly agreed to fully detail my spanking new car as soon as possible after I picked it up on 1st Sept. Unfortunately, instead of taking it straight round to his once I'd picked it up, I went for a bit of a drive;

He told me off, called me a twat then in a very grumpy mood spent the rest of the day sorting my car out

Those that have followed my mod progress will know that a day or two after I picked up the car, I put the new wheels on and got it lowered on a set of ACS so you can see how quickly I got it dirty as it still has the OEM 442s on it.

Since then (and the bollocking my mate gave me), I haven't dared get my car that dirty!

This lol.

'Wee' is a term us folk over here use to describe something small

I live in County Down, we speak relatively normal lol You should hear how the County Tyrone people talk over here. They talk like they have a wasp in their mouths and every sentence is finished with the word 'Hai'.

Lesson one:

English Term: A small gentleman
NI term: Look at that wee man over the'under hai.

And so on

Absolutely no idea mate! I just stood and watched as my friend went to work on it (chuntering and growling)

My method, which is the standard one as far as i know...

Snowfoam on to dry car
Leave for 5 mins or so.
Jetwash off all foam, and the dirt it takes with it.
Two bucket wash with shampoo
Jetwash off all shampoo
Dry the car

If I use wheel cleaner its before the bucket wash.

Always apply to dry car mate - purpose is to loosen the dirt / road film before applying any pressure with your mitt.

My method as follows:-

Wheel cleaner on - dwell for 5 mins and power rinse
Foam car all over
Whilst foam is dwelling on the car clean wheels by hand with natural sponge and a bucket of water for rinsing - best thing ever for getting them clean and told this by a mate who details professionally - easy.
Power rinse
2 bucket wash
Hose rinse
Apply FB easy coat - power rinse
Dry

That's just the basic but if going to town on it then add the following after 2 bucket wash:-

De tar
De iron - power rinse
Clay
Polish
Seal and or wax

Forget the easy coat there.

Was told it's best to hose rinse rather than power rinse after washing MB - always done this ever since.
