Intake Upgrades

Hi folks! I have a 2013 335i M-Sport. Are there any aftermarket intakes that won't create issues with the MAF sensor?

This is probably the only time you will hear me say this, but in the intake side I would say Dinan for sure. Yes it's really expensive, but the fact that it uses a sealed intake system is huge. Head soak is real with BMW engines especially the turbo ones. The only other solution to me would be something like the AFE momentum but it's kinda ugly and big. My vote goes to Dinan on this. I'm thinking of buying one myself.

Sorry to hear that you are a reluctant Dinan recommender, Chicken, but I have the Dinan exhaust and Intake on my '16 435i GC and I absolutely love it over stock.

I might be biased though as I went with Dinan primarily to maintain my warranty; sure there are other great products out there but so far, Dinan has worked well for me.

Dinan doesn't have bad products, they are just priced high. That price does come with warranty, but not everyone can justify over paying a few hundred bucks for similar or less performance for warranty on a product like an intake or exhaust that is very unlikely to break something.

Seems the MAF issues are more car dependant then intake dependant. BMS and AWE are popular ones.

If running a JB4 there is a workaround with it if you do get MAF errors.

I would do a AFE Pro-Dry drop-in filter, save the intake money for something like Intercooler or Downpipe .. Money better spent IMO!

Correct. I've see others have MAF issues when changing to aftermarket intake while using a JB4.

Hi Mike! Is the workaround to unplug the MAF sensor still?

Eventuri makes intakes for 335? On their website I only find for the M cars. I would like to get a eventuri for my car.

yep quite a few options out there that seem solid from reputable companies. I had the Injen on an earlier model and was satisfied.

They do, just go to their site and find their dealers. I found it on one and dear god that is expensive.

^ Agreed. You may get a few extra hp on the first wot pull but after that 99% of them are just going to heat soak and cause you to lose power. Save the money for an intercooler, oil cooler, or Pure Stage 1 upgrade.
