Spring Question
2014 328i RWD with base, non-adaptive suspension. Looking to lower vehicle just a hair.
Im not quite ready to pop for coil overs yet... so Im opting for just springs at this time. Following chart is in order from least drop to most (mm). Anyone else aware of other options? Last edited by sspade; 05-21-2018 at 08:05 PM.. |

Has anyone actually tried more than one of these?

Are Dinan Performance Springs truly the least amount of drop offered in today's marketplace? Seems distortedly low when you look at the rest of the pack.
That's probably the route I will go - as I am looking for a modest drop. These will put me at a roughly 19mm wheel gap. Thoughts? Last edited by sspade; 05-21-2018 at 08:57 PM.. |

Im rolling with about 38mm gap all the way around with my current set up.
What are your guys opinion as the optimal wheel gap, look wise? Thats the end game here. If I can improve the handling/feel a tad as well - all the better. Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated! |

I have Eibach pro kit but they made the ride super bouncy. I changed out the rear shocks for Koni sports and it fixed 80% of the bounce. I've since ordered coilovers for the front that will be here in a few weeks.

Thanks for sharing... was seriously considering Eibach Pro Kit. Ride height looks perfect to me. Sorry to hear they are a bit bouncy.
Guess that narrows it down to Dinan or AC Schnitzer. Anyone with those, care to chime in? |

Anyone who chose Dinan Performance Springs -
Did you re use factory bump stops or did you: 1. Buy the Dinan brand (which are supposedly OEM but marked up) 2. Buy the supposed OEM parts 3. Trim the factory bump stops 1/4 an (as suggested by others on this forum) |

Im also on Eibach springs, however I have Bilstein B6 shocks. For me there is no problem with bouncy ride. From what I have read in the forums, I understand that the bouncy ride with lowered springs is due to stock shocks being too soft. Therefore I started with shocks and then springs.

Probably mostly right about the bouncy ness being from factory soft dampers but still... I have not heard excessive bouncy complaints from people with Dinan or ACS so Im wondering if the Eibach spring is a tad softer?
Replacing both spring and damper at one time if definitely ideal. I just don't want to spend $1000 -$1500 right now and can get the springs for $300-$350 depending on which brand I choose. I figure I can roll like that for another 10k miles or so until I pop for dampers or coil overs and resell the springs on here. |

Ended up choosing AC Schnitzer.
Designed to work with stock bump stops. Mild drop compared to the pack. Also the most expensive of the group. Confused how Dinan advertises a less dramatic drop but INSISTS on using their shortened bump stops. But ACS springs are lower and are fine with the stock bump stops? Can the spring rate be THAT different? Im not convinced. These are not available for shipment in the USA without going through a rep. Not available on eBay (personal favorite) nor Amazon. Also not available from any forum sponsors, surprisingly? I got the hookup if anyone else is interested. Not that you couldn't google it or anything but the guy I dealt with was super informative and answered all of my questions. |
