Small tear in rim protector part of tyre

I have just noticed a flap of rubber on the rim protector part of the MPSS tyre. Is is perhaps 3mm thick (deep) and 10mm long and goes nowhere near the cords, but for largely cosmetic reasons (and perhaps to prevent opportunism on the part of my dealer who does the MOT) I would like to stick it in place with glue.

Any suggestions of a suitably strong/flexible glue?

Superglue usually sticks rubber very effectively.

Well either of those would be good as I have them both. I had wondered if they were flexible enough to cope with the usual deformation of the tyre, but perhaps for a small tear it doesn't matter.

I would naiively suggest careful use of rubber cement (cycle puncture repair kit) to effectively weld your loose flap to your rim protector bead.

I had a similar, but much larger tear (6mm at deepest, 30mm long) in mine a couple of years ago.

Tried a couple of adhesives but nothing held for more than a few days.

Neither the tyre place nor dealer raised any concerns over it, so don't worry on that score.

I did the exact same and it held nicely. Day old tyre too. Was absolutely raging.

You'll be pleased to know that my rim has healed nicely after using the treatment (rubber cement from a puncture kit) suggested in this thread.
