How exactly is black sapphire mettalilic?

There is a full kitted out 435i with all the M packs, RWD and 6 speed a real gem but it's black sapphire mettalic.

I don't really dig black, more white or dark grey but the pics I looked at were nice and the car still looks good.

The thing is it's in Toronto 5 hours away so I wanted to know from other members how exactly BSM looks like in person? Is there a noticeable color tint in sunlight? Like, I'm getting a black car I don't want it to look blue right.

I have it, it doesn't look blue at all. More of a subtle sparkle when fully sunny. I think it looks great and prefer it over the jet black non metallic paint.

It just has some character and sparkles in a way that regular black does not. It looks great when clean. Not blue at all IMO.

I did not seek out a black car when I got mine either but it had the right interior and options and it looks good and is neutral enough to not offend. It's a great color.

I have 2 BSM cars it looks great especially w a few coats of Chemical Guys Black Light wax on it.

ONLY downside - true of all metallics not just BSM - it's harder to touch than non-metallic. So Jet Black is better from that regard.

Mine jumps between BSM and MG depending on the light and how many seconds ago I last washed it. I think it has a nice subtle color flop.

Its hard to keep clean here in the dusty desert, but when it is, it looks amazing.

Jet Black shows scratches because it’s so soft.

So BSM much better from that standpoint.

Has high reflection in sunlight depending on angle.

This is true. And compared to the paint on our E46 they're both shit! Damn eco freaks making cancer paints illegal.

BSM is a very versatile color I haven't seen an interior it looks bad with. I'm partial to CR or SB but I haven't seen one that I hate.

I like mine with the BMW Individual Cashmere Beige Merino Leather, Leather Dashboard and Doors as well as retrofitted ceramic idrive Controller, Ceramic Shift and Ceramic Radio and Climate knobs.

Was going for Sports Luxury, not Sport.

Looks great. OP sorry for going off topic...

If you ever want to get your wheel redone Dallas can do the racing stripe at the top to match your fancy shmancy seats.

Yes, the flakes would shift to mineral grey. Certainly not blue.

You're thinking of carbon black that shifts to blue if memory serves

Its my favorite color. I had jet black on my previous car and this car is black sapphire and it definitely sparkles more, has more of a sheen than the jet. It seems to hold up better than Jet black too which looked duller quicker and started showing holograms and swirls

Is that your whip? Mind sharing what car wash supplies/wax you use? Can't believe thats black metallic looks like a mix of mineral grey!

I must say, I dig the way you did the ceramic controls, simply amazing

The most expensive item or retrofit per square inch in my car....period.

Attention to small details is what sets cars apart.

Notice the F80 LEATHER Steering Wheel TRIM as well as F80 Leather Air Bag as opposed to the plastic used in the F3x.

Just to throw in my unsolicited 2 cents - his parchment interior helps with the MG flop in that regard YMMV depending on interior.

That said back to products I just had a professional detail done - and I've tried different products over the years. I just redid my exterior myself after being perfectly happy with the pro job because I was bored. I tried chemical guys cleaner wax, butter wax, then a few coats of black light wax. Better than the pro job I paid $200 for. Looks absolutely amazing.

Different lighting with some true black thrown in for reference

Blackline LEDs actually lighten up the rear with uppers clear (Obviously this was prior).

As interior cannot be seen in this shot, I do not believe that really contributes to MG color.

My first F30 was Imperial Blue Metallic (a navy blue color), my present Black Sapphire Metallic F30 is not blue at all, there is some metallic flakes of red and green but a majority of the metal flaking is silver/brown, the non-black colors are so minimal that you do not notice them unless you really get close. You will not mistake the BSM black color for anything other than black, this is not Carbon Black or Azure Black which are both extremely dark blue. I personally like the BSM as it is not as hard to keep looking clean as the Jet Black, and the metal flake provides a better contrast over the BMW body curves. This color would reflect very well on the 4 series as it does have the nice slopping rear. Also, the BSM M-Sport with the Black Trim is sweet. Put on the Black Grills, a window tint and you will double take every time. Good luck on what ever choice you make.
