330d released - F31 Touring

Nice, very tempting improvements - and it looks great.

258bhp, 55mpg, 0-60 5.6secs. 135g/co2

Very impressive numbers indeed.

I'm hoping that BMW update the car configurator soon.

Desperate to have a play and get speccing a M-Sport of some variety

Is this the new place then?

Wonder if they need a UK moderator.

Seems to be. Quite spacious & not at all crowded.

With your picture posting skills Will I'm sure the mod-pickers will be beating a path to your door. I still have retinal damage from the train-de-homme.

£50k ? Holy......

BMW are really taking the p.

My E91 was £38k new. This is a joke. That's the price of a 5 series.

Did you manage to spec this with the dealer?..... or the website configurator??

My dealer is still telling me that the M-Sport trim isn't appearing on any of their internal systems to configure yet on the F30......

It is! My current 330d at 245ps is outstanding but that'll be even better! If it was out sooner, I would've had it in the F30 so I've made do with the 28i instead.

What sort of economy will get do you think?, this is a new alloy engine with enhanced injection.

Performance figures are quicker than the older 335D M Sport, that was 6.1 too 62MPH.
This one is 5.6 Too 62MPH

Careful you don't get too excited. Mid 40's as an average? The combined figure is pushing one crazy headline figure. I'm sure there are going to be some serious disappointments on mpg, as reports start coming back in.

One negative I've noticed, we've got a Drag (cD) of 0.31 compared to the older M-sport touring Drag (cD) of 0.29, not really good news for faster driving either.

I have the "average Combined figure" of 55MPG and Drag is the same as the old Touring on the BMW configurator I will take off 12MPG and it Should give mid to low 40's. We Hope.

Yeah it's brilliant isn't it!!
I think that's largely down to the transmission and weight savings as you get the fabulous Sport Automatic Transmission (8AT) as standard whereas the E90 335d got the 6spd Steptronic, which was good... in its day... and its not its day anymore, but never a rival for the 6MT, unlike the 8AT!
Plus the F30 is lighter than the E90 and the 35d only had... what was it, 278ps? Not all that much more powerful and had the weight (negligible I know) of an extra turbo.
Imagine the latest 313hp 630NM 35d unit though!! That'll be getting close to sub 5 seconds!! Might be the one to get (if not the 30d) after my 328i. And hopefully it will have been LCI'd by then. I can't see any other BMW competitors on the horizon...

Remember, my E90 330d (less clean) EASILY achieves 45mpg. If I go on a speed limit run, 49-52mpg appears!

Easily easily easily 49+ for the F31, 52+ for the F30, according to my car and driving style. Although, I am unfamiliar with automatic transmissions and the Touring model, so that is based on what I have seen other people say in comparison to the E90. That said, the extra 2 cogs acting as an overdrive will be great in lowering consumption!
^^ This is not an eco run either, this will be 75-90mph cruising and no dilly dallying!
Love the N57!

I can not wait to get it now, if I get 45MPG normal driving I'll be over the moon.

Nothing wrong in being hopeful, but I'm not sure we will see such high figures as an average. E91 auto is reported as still under 40mpg as a real world average. I know some users will get better averages and some high figures for light load drives. But I can't see how we can get a 10mpg improvement in the real world.

I'd love to be proved wrong, but too many years studying mpg figures teaches me to be a little cautious of such a jump in the official combined figure. I expect a bigger percentage of mpg shortfall, than the previous generation.
